just follow any of the how-to's for removing the stock airbox
here's one for you
http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=40198.0
then just follow the instructions that came with the intake for the installation of the fujita...
i've installed the k&n cai and the Fujita F5 cai and the fujita is easier imo
good luck on the install

would it require taking off the wheel like in the link?

I've never taken my wheel off before :\ putting it back is simple torqueing it?

I personally don't like messing around with the wheels, so I always take off the bumper. Either way will work fine.

The longest part is removing bumper or jacking/removing wheel and the bloody resonator bolts. I say about an hour if you got the tools and know what you're doing, probably 2-3 hours if you're going to be playing around with it.
Don't know about losing low end, but seems like the gains are more high end.

I'm not sure if I'll be getting a copy of the guide. Is there an online version?

Yes, as I had a similar intake on my auto. The airbox should have no difference between auto or manual.
Did it come with paper instructions? This is a pretty straight forward install, i had a fun time with this little project. gl =]

would there be variance between the Injen installation and Fujita installation? Turns out both methods require removing the front wheel. Which I would not like to do

There's no difference. However, you don't have to remove the front wheel if you take off the whole bumper. Either way, would require a bit of work like that to install. Most of the work is taking out the stock airbox. Putting in the CAI after is pretty simple.

When I installed mine I took off the wheel and bumper, it makes it so much easier. Took me prob 45mins - 1hr.
Word of advice though make sure the rubber mount part is put on well.

It took me and my friend 3 hours to do this. We chose to take off the bumper. Taking off the bolt that connects the bumper to the fender on both sides was a pain and easily took 15-20 minutes, finding it and then taking it off. There was also this troublesome bolt for the airbox. Once all that junk was off it was smooth sailing until putting back the same 2 screws.
