I'm planning to take my car in to get a rust proofing done. I got it from the US and its never been rust-proofed but overall body and undercarriage is in great condition. When I took delivery I even took off a number of interior liners / exterior panels to do an inspection of the parts that typically rust and found that surprisingly everything was in really good condition and only a minimal amount of dust.

I wanted to do a rustproofing and after reading all the posts on this site and elsewhere, prefer rustcheck over krown but only slightly. I plan on rustproofing annually anyway. Plus, my car has a few large underbody panels that really keep things clean for the underbody mechanical bits. Its probably worthwhile to take these off for the rustproofing but my mechanic doesn't seem to think so!

In anycase, I wanted to hear about experiences at various krown / rustcheck locations around the GTA? I want to go to a place that will take their time, address some of the specifics I'd like them to do and give me a good explanation of the job they did (e.g. where they were able to cover, or where they weren't able to get to and could be risk areas). This is probably the worst time of year to be going for a rustproofing since its so busy but still worth giving it a shot to find a reputable rustcheck / krown location!

Let me know!

I just had mine done by Ziebart on Laird near McRae in Leaside. The smell was pretty strong but wore off in about 2 weeks. There was no drip or mess.

thanks for the feedback guys. I'm actually going now to check out both rustcheck and krown (on lakeshore) to see how they do their process.

The reason I like rustcheck right now is based on the feedback from this forum and other research. They seem to drill fewer holes, they explained that their product also has some magnetic properties (helps adhesion and water displacement). Also, they are willing to remove the underbody panels from my car as part of the job but krown says I need to take them off before coming to see them (only way I can do that is taking it to my mechanic, storing the panels there, etc which would be a headache).

The price difference I was quoted is ~$30, rustcheck being the more expensive option.
