Hey everyone, I'm currently with Telus and looking at upgrading to an HTC Touch. I'm interested in it as a PDA but not necessarily utilizing its email capabilities. I'm usually near my computer at work, and other times I can access email via the web.

My question is, Bell apparently considers the Touch a phone, not a smartphone, making it cheaper to add unlimited web browsing ($10/month now I believe). I was wondering if anyone knows if this is the case for Telus. I don't want to pay $30/month for a smartphone bundle if I don't have to.

my friend at work has the HTC touch and shes already on her second one. The first one she had came with a faulty battery but they replaced the whole unit under warranty. since then no problems:)

I loved it while I had it, but it isn't the easiest to use if you text or email a lot.

No, I'm usually a moderate texter. Looking mostly for an all-around phone/PDA running Windows Mobile so I can add apps, and sync with my desktop.

AVOID that damn phone, I had 2 and NEVER went back with it. I paid to cancel my telus account and never ever again. They both failed as faulty and i was charged RETARDED prices for data usage when i never used it -_-

It is only 15.00 extra for email plan with Telus. Anyway, my brother and I have the HTC touch diamond and they are awesome phones. I bought my refurbishment from Telus and activated it without the data. It has Wifi and has navigation. I LOVE IT, no complaints.

1) I think a lot of the bad reviews of the Touch have to do with anything pre-Windows Mobile 6.1. After that they seem quite stable.

2) There are a lot of pricey plans on Telus, but you can get the email package for $15; I'm not going to be using it much for email so I'm going with a voicemail/text/web browsing package for $15 (supposedly not for smartphones). Any email I check will be through the web browser or Outlook Mobile, not the Telus email system.

3) I still don't understand how DARK3 can have wifi on a Telus (CDMA) phone as it is widely accepted that the chipset that phone uses (which I have in my hand too) has no wifi capabilities.
