So I got a speeding ticket. $115 fine with 3 pts.
This morning I called the number on the back of the ticket to schedule a trial or first attendance. I thought you can only schedule anything in person but the ticket says that I can call for an appointment. So I called the Court of Justice-Mississauga this morning. As expected I am put on hold.."your call is important to us and all that" I waited an hour! finally it goes through. "Press 1 if I know the number of the person" "Press 2 if I know the name of the person" "Press 0 for operator" I was like wtf? So I press 0 and it tells me "incorrect number".. and hung up.. I need your help! Should I call again and wait for another hour for it to hang up on me?
Does anyone have any experiece with First attendance in Mississauga? Thanks!!!
Seems like you were going pretty fast in order to get slapped with a $115 fine.
In terms of Mississauga. Go to the Court of Justice on Burnhamthorpe just past Mavis, go in and talk to them.

yea.. 74km in a 50km zone. It was at Hurontario and Dundas Area (where the beer store is)
I always saw cops there.. but I guess I wasn't paying attention this time.. Is that area really 50 km? I would assume 60 but i guess that's why cops are always there..

That is a 50 zone. And the reason why, there are always cops there is because, the police station is not very far from the beer store.

As you mentioned, you called the number on the back of the ticket? I'd try that again. If worst comes to worst. Just go in, it saves alot of hassle.
I know Hurontario and Dundas very well, since I go to my billairds tournament there. If you noticed, right before the bridge, it shows a 50km sign on the right side, and that beer store that you're talking about. That's just passed the Aladin's on the left, The police station is not very noticable due to the fact that it's a attached building. Hence is why you always see cop cars parked outside. There's also a Mc Donalds in your area. Only defence you got in this case is that, If the cop did radar past that bridge. It could potentially get thrown out of court due to the fact that, the road is more of a sloap when coming down.

I was going 100 in a 50 zone and got pulled over. The cop was nice and on the ticket he put 60 in a 50 zone and the fine was 40$. Do you know if it would effect my insurance and if it goes on my record?

That's not what I've heard. It'll come up on your record as a minor offense.

Correct. Points or no points, you'll still probably get dinged by your insurance company.

have 2 tickets, 1 with points and another was just a 40$ fine (63 on a 50-- no points)
nothing happened with insurance and agent said if no points, won't go up unless you have 2 tickets with pts already, and u get a 3rd, with or without pts.. insruance will be jacked up

not always. why do you thin people state that they dont care about the money as long as they get the points off. plus insurance isnt gonna care if you got a ticket with no points. its as useless as a parking ticket.. and parking tickets come up as minor offences but doesnt do anything. the point system ist he biggest problem.. you can get a ticket with no points.. and nothing will happen.. but get a 4 point ticket and your insurance is going up for sure.

I realzie that this thread is a little old, but I thought I would comment anyway about insurance.
I too once throught that tickets without points meant nothing to your insurance. Until one day I was driving a company vehicle on a trip. I was pulled over for speeding. I could not locate the insurance information in the car so the officer gave me a choice. Take the speeding ticket or the Fail to provide insurance ticket. The insurance ticket was only $65 and would not give me any points. And this I could take back to the company and complain that they had to pay it since it was their fault for not providing me the insurance information.
To make a long story short, when it came time to renew my insurance, they asked for an abstract. This was the only ticket on my abstract. Because of this ticket, my "star rating" went down and my premium went up!! I argued that this has no bearing on my driving ability and how could it raise my insurance, but they told me that the only tickets that do NOT affect insurance are parking tickets.
So, although tickets with no points don't go immeidately to the insurance company, if they do find out about it, it could affect it. Most companies do allow one or two minor tickets before they raise your premium. Any ticket that gives you more than three points is considered a major infraction and will be immediately forwarded to your insurance company.
