Be careful when you're doing boxing day shopping.

I crossed over 7am yesterday to go to black Friday ((roommate's idea)) and it was nuts!!
People line up as early as 1 am for the 5am openings. Most of the stores in the WNY area opened at 7 and it was still crazy. There was a line up of 20 people at a walgreens waiting to get in.
Targets line ups were ridiculous. We waited in line for 20 mins to check out. Crazy.
But I did get some amazing deals though. I got season 3 of the office and the first three seasons of house for $14 each!! the three seasons of house cost me $45- what one would cost me in Canada
Would I go back? Never.

OMG its crazy enough on a regular weekend over at the military outlets.
I am a regular US shopper but I cant even handle the regular crowds no way would I do this Black Friday business. I value my sanity and safety over a few dollars.
There are deals here too... they opened a new Best Buy by my house picked up an LG LCD 32" for $399 for my room. I am happy :bana2

Im confused. What exactly is black friday? Some kind of day corporations made up where deals are only offered on that day?
And is it really worth it shopping there? Like right now our dollar is around 80cents US i think and i swear when i go over, the only thing that is cheaper and worth buying is the shoes... but with the dollar this low, i dont even think its worth going over anymore

black Friday is the mark of the start of holiday shopping season in the states. Typically this day of the turnaround for people to be "out of the red" and start making profits. It's a ridiculous day and it should not have to be like that.
The dollar when traded yesterday was 80 cents. Not horrible but not good either. My deals on the DVDs was still worth it even with the currency exchange.

that's what the man was supposed to be. But one person to "control" 2000 is kind of unfair don't ya think?

Right at the top of Redhill Expressway... around Stonechurch (Stoney Creek). That area is blowing up and there is also a Petsmart, Hockey Life, Michaels, a huge Indigo store/Starbucks and a new Cineplex Odeon will be opening soon. :bana2

Its a shopping day following the US Thanksgiving Day (4th Thursday in November) its an official launch to holiday shopping.
They have also now created "Cyber Monday" which is the Monday following Thanksgiving/Black Friday. Lots of online retailers will offer pretty amazing deals as well so for all you online shoppers keep your eyes peeled for online deals

so THAT'S what they were building up there!!!!! Now all that's left to decode is the Centre Mall area

That would be a really bad/sad way to loose a member of your family.

Yeah, especially the Wal-Mart clerk that got trampled. He was hired through an agency for temp work for the holiday season. And not to be stereotypical, but from what I've been reading he sounds like a recent immigrant that was getting a "break" and then this happens. Not cool.

realistically its impossible to help the guy, the most you can do it avoid stepping on him. There are hundreds more people behind you pushing forward, stopping to try to help would most likely mean you're going to get knocked down and stepped on as well.

I guess you're right... I just it's in my nature to attempt to help. The nurse in me I suppose...
