05 GT Hatch, the taillights work, because when I brake or signal, they work properly. But they don't come on otherwise when i have my headlights on, I've tried it with just the markers on, and with the lights set to auto.

is it just a fuse that runs it seperately? or some sort of relay?

If no one else has the answer, PM me and I will have a look at the wiring diagram when I am home tonight.

ok, i checked the manual for the fuse box, and there's only a fuse for each corner (Right Rear, Left Rear), but nothing seperating the operation of Braking and just "on". i'll PM you when I get off work if no one has responded. TIA

Have you tried replacing the bulbs? The bulbs may be dual-filament and the one filament that comes on w/ the headlights is burnt out. Weird though to have both burnt out at the same time.

i don't think its the bulbs since both sides are out, but i'll double check.

LOL so it was the bulbs, they are dual filament and one was out, and the other was fine. Still strange how both went at the same time

Are you sure one wasn't gone for a while, and you didn't notice until the other went too?

it would have been nice for our cars to have the bulb out feature to warn the driver....I would never know that my tail light is out unless I did regular checks which I dont!!

I've only had the car in my possesion for just 3-4 days when it was pointed out to me that the lights were out.
