You should also put the rear wheel layer below the smoke layer :P The mag sticks out a bit! Had you not mentioned that you had photoshopped it, I probably wouldn't have noticed! Nice! Good idea with the smoke too.

^+1 LOL I was about to say that too!....everytime i see pics of the new 3, i just shakes my head in dissappointment...in other mazda3 forums they just making fun of it, it seems no one take this car seriously hahaha....just sad

its hopeless even photoshop cant save the look of this car.

Ok so I've been procrastinating mega mega big time and decided I'd take a stab at the 2010 3. I have to say, its hard to make the car look good off its basic shape. I feel real sorry for the aftermarket in terms of rims because its extremely hard to find ANY style of rim that looks good or the appropriate size for this car. Its a bloody shame.

It has to be said that the car is majorly lowered in the picture despite not looking like it. If you'd go by ball park estimates its about a 2 - 3" comparing on the stock rims and how much I dropped their car over the diamter.

THIS CAR IS JUST UNPROPORTIONAL!!! PERIOD!!!

Mesh grill, lowered, smaller rims larger track tires. Despite the smaller rim, the overall tire wheels combo diamter is larger.

Bleh. +1 on your efforts, but the starting material.... well... it's probably just an illusion, but it looks like there is hump or bulge in the hood... which just emphasizes the rounded-whale like snout... almost looks like it's pursing its lips ready to blow a bubblegum bubble. Feh. Reminds me of the faces stuck on the Thomas the Tank Engine trains. Or that car with the face the Toronto police used to use for promo work. Double bleh.

I decided to give it one more shot, this one I took the last image and then moved some of the body lines a bit. I don't like what I did with the front grill it didn't turn out the way I had hoped. Essentially the grill is smaller and lines up with the wheel arch.

Notice the side body line of the door handles. By simple making it less droopy and moving it into the quarter pannel it adds a simpler design to the side of the car and looks very close to what the current 3 is like. If the wheel arch wasn't so bold and went from the headlight to the matching side windows bodyline it would clean up the business of the front wheel arch. The photoshop also now sports the new Mazda6 wheels.

The front is very bulvousy and looks over complicated, its as if they kind of gave up on the sides and rear of the car. A little bit of a simplified front end would do wonders.

I'll take a stab at it soon (maybe tomorrow if I'm bored *shakes fist at work*)! It's all about the subtle changes though, I think if you change the wheels, it looks a bit too photoshopped. All I have with me is my ghetto laptop, so I don't know what I'll be able to do!

good job with the p'shop - 1,000 times better than what I can do (I'm still a noob, but learning)

I don't like the look of the new Mazda 3 though - kinda looks like it jumped out of the movie "Cars" LOL

I'm sure it might grow on me once I start to see a few on the roads though

There are still a bunch of areas that I could have spent more time on, but then, I wouldn't want to shame the Mazda 3 2010 designers (or I just am lazy:chuckle). Some of the proportions look weird to me though :bang

That looks sooooooooooooooooooo much better already!

It's the ridiculous bulge in the front of the car that makes it so unproportioned...it looks like it's pregnant or something. Don't want to see what THAT will give birth to!!

Hey guys... not to rain on anyone's parade (I love the improvements you've made to the look)... but maybe one of you could stick a licence plate on the front... 'cause that's how most of them will end up.

Also, maybe if someone wants to play a bit more... I am looking the Zoom Zoom mag that shows up at my door.... and I am wondering how the new 3 would look with nose from the new 6.....

Yeah... it always bugs me that the rear licence plate is always designed in, but the front is always just tacked on without any regard to asthetics...

That one is my favorite too! I love that grille over the "try #4" but both look amazing!
Still cant hide the fact that no matter what you do to improve it, that front plate WILL take a little bit away from it for sure!

I like the TL lights too Ry!
