Price drop for 2009?

Looking over the Mazda Canada website I noticed that the 2009 Speed3 is $2000 cheaper than the 2008.5 What is the reason for this price drop?

Yeah I got mine at 0% financing January 2008.

If fact All 09 Mazdas are cheaper than their respective 2008 model.

Main reason for the cash incentives on the 2008.5, to make it less than the 2009s

Actually it's because when those models came out, the Canadian dollar was stronger than the US dollar so they had to bring the price down to avoid people buying their cars in the US as our dollar was strong and the US pricing was much lower.

Not sure what will happen with this potential recession but there's a chance prices will go up again now that our dollar has gone down significantly, but they might not be able to do that until the economy stabilizes itself again.

Chances are that even though we are in a recession there will be some price adjustments made. How much? I think it will be minimal but they will have to adjust the prices based on our dollar.
