As a newbie, my friend and I were looking into Photography classes. I reside in Markham, so what kind of options do I have here?

Henry's has the School of imaging. It might be good for a beginner and only like $60 a class.

I suppose classes are good.
But if you are new then honestly the Internet + practice is very good.
I think classes are good (I mean professional classes taught by top photographers in the industry) once you max out what-ever is available from reading on the Internet.

+1 Agree - there are actually some very good online course (both pay and free) - I remember one that was sponsored by Canon for free. Most areas have local photography clubs, where nuts like ourselves get together to discuss their fancy cameras and more importantly, photo-techniques (both "live" groups and online ones). And yeah, with digital, it's great, take TONS of pics, take the same pics and play with settings, zoom, etc etc. If you did something you like, write it down so you remember what you did :)
