Worst service experience EVER. Had 4 new tires put on my 06 Mazda 3 sport on Saturday, drove home and left the car on the driveway, I come out a few hours later and back passeneger tire is flat. Call them up the next day and they say bring it in and we'll take care of it. I get to the Auto centre and and ask to speak to the manager as I had question about my bill and why would my tire go flat a few hours after they installed it. Manager flips out and tells me "Not to come here and throws my keys and bill at me and tells me what I think doesn't matter and that he won't work on my vehicle. I look at him and say are serious ? thats your answer, he walks away mumbling that he won't look after the leaky tire. I reminded him that he's obligated to look after my vehicle considering i just spent 7 bills on new tires. I ask to speak to the Store manger and he tells me "he's not in today" I ask him what the managers name is and he wouldn't tell me. I go for a walk to the customer service desk and they page the Store manager for me and I explain everything to him and bring him over to the auto serivice are and ask the service advisor to page the "so called manager" the guy wouldn't even come out his office to face me in front of the store manager. Needless to say I filed a complaint with head office and am awaiting a call back from the owner. I'm baffled that a so called manager would act like such a jerk to a customer.
STAY AWAY from this place.

I hope you get a nice cheque from head office or something so you can spend it on garden hoses, tires, and drills

All kidding aside why would you go there? You always hear horror stories about Wal Mart and Canadian Tire auto service. Dont you get like all this extra service when you get new tires put on at Crappy Tire? Dude needs to chill the **** out too. He can start lining up at the unemployment line. What a douche bag.

And you're waiting for a callback from the owner? Owner of Canadian Tire??

talk about complete dishonesty..i have never heard with such poor customer service and thanks for the review and i will pass it on to friends who get their cars serviced at these kinds of mechanics. i know for a fact that the manager is definitely getting the boot for how he treated you. no way i would accept that kind of behavior from a manager

You won't get any money or compensation.

Canadian Tire did the brakes on my blazer (old domestic vehicle they should be able to fix it right?) when they were done my ABS no longer worked and my brakes didn't function correctly under hard braking at highway speed.

Repeated visits I was told nothing was wrong and that I might need a new brake booster. After telling them that the brakes worked better before they messed with it I was told nothing could be done.

Eventually I took the tech that did my brakes onto the highway got to 120 braked and watched held on as we came up very quick to upcoming traffic. Once below 80km the brakes worked fine and we didn't rear end anyone but it illustrated my point.

Turns out the installed the abs rings on my rotors incorrect, I spoke to the manager and head office and both of them said that their is no compensation for my time (repeated visits) or the fact I could have easily got into an accident because they eventually did fix the problem at no additional cost to me.

I have not had my vehicle serviced at Canadian Tire Again.

I don't expect much out of this whole situation... I am more concerned about spreading the word as to how bad the service is. Just like word of mouth can be the cheapest and best form of advetising...it can also work in reverse and toatally ruin a companies reputation.

As for why I went there it seemed like a good deal........guess I was wrong and believe me I deffinetly will not be returning to crappy tire.

Say what you will about dealerships charging what they do, I can not imagine a dealership's employee or for the sake of argument Manager ever treating a customer they way I was treated by this clown.

Live and learn I guess.

My experience with crappy tire is mixed, some good service and some terrible. For example I purchased 4 winter tires (Goodyear Nordic) for our Dodge caravan a few years ago from Crappy Tire in Milton. Then, a few days later, my wife took it to a local oil change shop where they told we had 3 left hand tires and one right hand , and three of the four were installed on the wrong side. Of course we took it back and got things corrected, but how can a tire installer not know that some tires are directional.

I hope you get something back from them. That is just plain terrible :(

FYI

There's no such thing as left and right side tires. Directional yes.

Dentinger works at CT as a mechanic, and im sure he or any of his staff would do work in their CT store like that... Lets see if he provides his 2 cents here..

you get what you pay for

got something to sell?

fixed it for ya :P

our main problem, is we hire too many new guys in too short of a period.
double gasketed oil filters, slow working, not completely trained, etc etc.

obviously, i try my best most of the time. ive worked long there long enough to learn how to do tires/oil changes/emisisons etests in the shortest time possible. but it takes time to learn that.
however, we have people absolutely tweak out numerous times before. any service shop will have this happen.
imo, we're pretty good at customer come backs from what i've seen.
people dont realise how busy we can get sometimes, so the get pissed off at the wait times or when they're car isnt done when they were told it was going to be.

You can't take the experience from one store and bundle all CTs together. The guy was probably having a totally shit day too or something.Although people would say thats' no excuse for bad customer service, I say everyone is human and sometimes people have to carry alot of shit around.

I used to work at that CT service center many many moons ago and they were pretty bad back then too LOL....so many new faces all the time, it was a revolving door when it came to technicians....But, I used to take my last vehicle to the CT near where I live in Scarborough for oil changes, tire stuff etc; small stuff and always got exceptional service.

If you are on a car forum, I would assume you should have enough resource (search) to find a decent garage to work on your car - for a much better price and reliability. Street performance is where I would recommend.

any update on the outcome? this is the major reason i never go to c-tire anymore, they will not admit they made a mistake, and try to make u feel intimidated.

All depends on which store you go to. There's a CT here in Ottawa that does basically every alignment for autox/solosprint guys in town. Some are better than others.

I think he might be talking about the one on Carling.

Yeah, the Carling CT. The service manager and both his alignment techs run a the MCO autocross events.

Wow... why go to CT in the first place when you can take it to your dealership and have it done by people who know your car best! I just called CT for a price on an alignment and balance... $95 for the alignment (I imagine that would be before taxes?) and $12 PER TIRE for balancing...

I then called my dealership and they quoted $89.95 (total he said, so I think taxes in), and $39 to balance all 4 tires. Uhhh something seems wrong... it's not THAT much of a price difference, but isn't the whole idea behind taking your car elsewhere (to CT in particular) other than your dealer to save $$? :\

Hate to tell you, but quality and patience are worth more cash.

You can get it done at the dealer, and it'll be a decent alignment. But if you want a really good job you have to be willing to pay. As weird as it sounds, Ralph and crew at CT Carling are the best in Ottawa, and are worth that extra bit.

yah? I figured maybe that's why it was so expensive.... but then I also thought all CT locations had standard pricing... anyway I'm going to Elite tomorrow instead... I think I've heard they're pretty good...
