For the starting issue; how old is your battery? If it is old it might have lost the amperage to get you going in the cold.

He has an '07!! ....It is quite normal for 'any' battery in extreme cold to loose a percentage of it's cranking amps, so you shouldn't expect when starting a car "cold" in -24C to start like a car in 10C.Best thing you can do when starting cold is make sure nothing is on eg; fan or lights, or wipers etc;...basically, anything that can drain power....put the ignition switch to 'ON' and wait a few seconds, giving the computer time to adjust to the climate specs then 'Start'.
As for the noise, I'll bet it was just hard packed snow in your wheel wells etc;

hey its an 07 auto with about 38K
the problem started happening after fridays snowstorm where i was driving through the side streets and i can say that my car was plowing the road since its lowered
i dont think its the battery it seems to be coming from my exhaust or something...its right under the driverside
could it be a part got lose right under or something from the snow?

Okay, now your confusing the issue! Are you having problems starting the engine? or starting the vehicle moving?...please clarify.
And it's quite possible if your lowered you ripped the engine undercover to shreds if you were not careful!

I second that on the vibration in reverse and hard start these days.
I think its the cold.

Do 2009 Mazda3's still come with the "cheap" batteries, AKA not maintenance free?
Here's a tip. Let the fuel pump prime before you start it. Put it in start but don't start the car. Let the car get all its pumps and eveything primed, then start the car. It will start easier.

hey im having problems when starting my car but also when my car is in reverse
when i start my car there is this rumble right under my feet but after starting it, it goes away
when reverse my car shakes alot and when i mean shake my feet are shaking and including my steering wheel but once i get on drive it goes back to tomorrow
i'm thinking it might have something to do with possible my exhaust since snow has been banging on it real hard on friday
if i take it to the dealership to check they will prolly question me on my modifications right?

Thanks for the priming tip. Gonna give this a go as well, couldn't hurt and if it helps, all the better.
