4:00Am The classic two cabs in the middle of the street "Chatting" I didnt realize he was stopped in time, plus the weather and streetcar tracks I plowed into the back of him..Bumper bar looks bent, fender lines are off, tires rubbing fluids gone...God knows what else.
His car was fine not even a dent..
I'm pretty devastated, car looks like shit..Guaranteed Im at fault. How the **** I swear to god the guy had his car in park or his brake lights didnt work.
First thing the tow truck guy said was "were they talking in the street?"
Pics to come when its light out.
I know it's just a small accident but damn it's just one thing after another sometimes..
Thanks for listening to me vent..
Oh Happy New Year.

Bro that sucks to hear; glad your okay.
If anything, the cab driver may also be at fault and could face charges for Impeding Traffic causing a motor vehicle accident. I'd talk to a lawyer first before saying anything, or anyone here can chime in on this?
Things will be okay..

If you hit a stationary object... you are 100% at fault. The fortunate thing in this case was that it wasn't a pedestrian.

Thanks guys..I appreciate the kind words. I kind of see it as luck, I mean what are the odds of hitting a cab driver named Mohammad in Toronto?:chuckle:
It's not that bad I keep telling myself..These might as well be pictures of dead bodies, they make me sick.

looks like no more then $800
looks like no more then $800
new fender, new bumper cover, prep, labour, paint...plus whatever damage that we cannot see
its plenty more than $800
anyways - nobody was hurt - that's the important thing

Doesn't look too bad... If the cabbie has no damage, I would avoid getting insurance involved...
Glad nobody was hurt... Shitty thing that the guy was talking on the street like that.

A mere flesh wound.
A little elbow grease and some Zaino will have that buffed out w/o any problems!

your headlights and hood looks alright...so new bumper and two fenders and prolly some time on the framing rig to straighten out the bumper bar..I'm thinking closer to $1500+...
not only glad that no one is hurt, but that your airbags didn't deploy...that's prolly another $1500 all on its own...

Josh,
Just logged in and saw this... I am so sorry to hear about this and the damage to your baby. That said, the most important thing is that you were not hurt and walked away. The car can and will be fixed and will look brand new once done.
Technically, you are at fault, but that said, it is also illegal to park yourself in the middle of a roadway, without operating brake lights or active hazards. Make sure you explain this in detail in the police report. I have seen many cabs do this and it is very, very dangerous!!!
I am glad you are okay...

your looking at a lot more. for me bumper, new headlamp, fender, new hood your looking at like 3k in damage more then likely. thats how much it cost me to get all that replaced on my car when i had my accident. welcome #14 tm3er to get into an accident. hopefully it will get better man.

Ack!!!!
What did you say to the taxi driver?? I would have freaked the hell out. I already hate all taxi drivers and refuse to ever take a taxi in my life. This goes back to my biking days. I was hit by a taxi who tried to make a right turn from the same lane as me right beside me, and had uncountable near misses with taxis. They always cut you off, drive careless, and have really really bad attitudes on the road.
A few weeks ago I was turning right from Victoria Park onto St Clair right where that bar is on the corner, and someone waved the taxi so in mid turn he slammed his brakes and just stopped dead. I wasn't expecting this at all and almost rear ended him. So, I went around him and kept boxing him in traffic that was going the speed limit, lol... They hate when you do that, it's so fun to do when they have a fare in the cab cause they can't do anything.

They also drive like idiots in Windsor.
My ONE trip to Downtown TO this past summer, and one blew a red light CLEAN while I was trying to turn left. He was on the phone, passed in the bike lane, and shot me the finger! So I called him a Jihad (which he was), and a cop saw it, after I burned out trying to turn cause I was about to get kaplowed by traffic from the opposite direction, and he actually got nailed. I quickly got on the 403 and took off, hehe.
I think the total for your damage will be around $1300. The bumper should be salvageable if dealing with the right body shop, and the left fender, if not damaged cosmetically, looks like it shifted because of the force, and can be re-aligned. If your headlights are still in tact, the only thing you need is a new fender.
