I know of Street Performance, although i'm not entirely sure he'd be able to help me with this one, nor do I think it'd be a good idea to drive the car there.
My parents' car, a 96 Buick Regal, is going through some really tough times. I'd guess that the entire rear suspension is f-ed. I just did the brakes, but just don't have the time/energy/space/tools to deal with suspension problems. You know, come to think of it, I think there are some seals/gaskets that are worn and leaking on the engine too.
Anyhoo, I'm looking for a skilled/reputed mechanic one of you guys can refer me to that won't rip me a new one like the stealerships. Bonus if you've *personally* had experience with them. I've been to b-line already (they royally messed up my altima's tranny), so I wanted to avoid that place.
Thanks!

I use Active Green & Ross in Brampton @ 410 & Queen for my wife's car. They've been really good for us.

I go to OAC automotive in Oakville. There at 1428 ( I think) speers rd. across the street and a little bit down from oakville mazda. Ask for Mark and tell him Todd sent you. Good honest guys and good pricing.

I've had good experiences for routine things at Nihon Auto near Dundas/Cawthra. Roman is a great guy to deal with.

I personally know (and go to) Mark Davies at Master Mechanic, corner of Winston Churchill and Aquitaine (at Meadowvale Town Centre) Mark is the manager there, and I have known him for years. He is honest and he and his crew do excellent work. I have had small issues with some vehicles in the past for which he has charged NOTHING. I have recommende him to many people and hear good things about him from them too. He will fix what needs to be fixed and let you know about other issues that you may want to consider.
Kepp in mind though, any licenced mechanic cannnot let you take your car back on the road if there are safety related items that need to be repaired.

I believe he was a master mechanic for Toyota and Honda, and how he works out of his home.

Hey,
I use a shop called RoboWrench in the Kipling and QEW area. They are building my rally car as we speak, they do a lot of custom work and can trouble shoot everything.
Best part about them, show up with cash and they will give you a discount!
Honest guys, great work and you can see some really cool cars when you are there. They do all the Canada's Worst Driver cars, cars for movies and race cars like mine.
Address is 32 Belvia Rd (just off Horner) and the number is 416 259 0374. They are hit or miss about when they are there, typically between 12-7 and ask for Rob. If you need any more info feel free to ask me.

depends on what needs to be done if it's something bit like timing belt or something then i might go back to the stealership but something small like brake rotor swapping i try to do myself.
aside from that i normally do active green and ross as mentioned before
Blue Ribbon Auto
Tomken + Burnhamthorpe.
My personal car is quite modified, however, the rest of my family's cars are stock. We've taken all of our cars to Peter and Alex for just about everything (major tranny issues, oil leaks, rust patching, etc etc) We've never been disappointed - most importantly, they back up their work.
No, I am not employed by them or affiliated with them in anyway - I am just a very satisfied customer. I'm willing to any any questions by PM.
Give them a call or drop by - you won't be sorry with their service.
