lol with the threads of people seeking for jobs popping up, I decided to give it a try to. Heck, if I never tried I wouldn't even have a chance.
Well heres the deal, I'm a full time University of Waterloo student studying Accounting & Financial Management (coop) and have my first summer off (May 09 - Sept 09). I would like to gain some experience in the workforce prior to actually starting my co-op term next winter.
I'm looking for any summer interm/co-op placements for a business student (accounting would be preferred, but to be honest I'm interested in most other fields as well, as long as it is business related.
If anyone has any opportunities or openings, please let me know! :)
My resume and transcript can be emailed to you on request.
Much appreciated!

If I'm not mistaken kevcol that waterloo has one of the only degrees that is bound for CA.
edit: changed "recognized" as "bound for". Don't nkow enough about the program to be able to back the other argument up.

They did recently change that whole Accountant system, no more CMA or CGA, its all CA now isn't it... But Laurier is know for its business courses (I took a few years of the BBA program), alot of my courses were accounting, I just assumed they offered it as well, more so than U of W.... My bad I guess! lol

yeah im at Waterloo becuase this program is the only one recognized for a CA designation, atleast nearby. Basically I skip a lot of the process to become a CA by being in the program and finishing the Masters part of it. The one at WLU is a general business degree.
To date, there are still the differences between CMA, CGA, and CA. lol hope it stays that way so it is worth me getting my CA

This year its a lot tougher, especially since I am a first year student and the economy isn't doing so well. Would you suggest me applying online or do you have friends that are currently working there that could help me hand in my resume?

Accounting firms are always doing well, there's work when companies are downsizing/bankrupting, and regular work when companies around.
They would definitely enjoy cheap labour however.
Also try Accountemps, and temp the summer. Let me know if you want a contact as I've used them as an employer/client.
