I am planning to get together with a few of my friends and organize a lapping day at Shannonville for everyone who is interested here is the info:

Time and Date ** Friday April 24th 5pm - 8pm
Where ** Shannonville Fabi (short track)
Cost ** $50-$70 it all depends

Available spots are 25 or so to ensure everyone gets enough time on the track.

Depending on how many people show up we will split up into groups of 4-6 car and then take turns on the track. that way we can make it safer with less traffic on the track and of course we can always mix and match the groups.

For everyone's safety rules will be put in place:

i) No Tailgating stay a good distance from the car in front of you.
ii) No passing unless the car in front signals you to.
iii) Seat belts or seat harnesses must be worn on track.
iv) No drifting on the track.
v) No stopping on the track what so ever! if you run into a problem with your car please pull off somewhere safe.
vi) Maximum of one passenger per car on the track
Vii) If you get flagged for being unsafe on the track you must return to the pits immediately

** Helmets Recommended ** :bang

just simple things to make it more safer!

So everyone is welcomed you can bring your friends it will be a nice event for everyone to meet each other and have a good time. But everything isn't solid yet! I already called up and April 24th is free.. so i need to book it soon i just want to know if anyone is interested from this forum!

**Price depends on the amount of people showing up**
under 10 - event will be canceled
10 to 15 $70 per person
15 to 20 $60 per person
20 to 25 $50 per person

this is seriously on a friday? when do you need to know by? I have to check a few things before i commit. I'll need to see if i can okay it to get off work early enough to get there in time. Also, i dont wanna ride out alone, so i'll have to see if my friend with an STi can come too. is that okay? are you collecting $ at a certain date or what? it says helmets recommended...are you sure its not necessary? I guess i should just suck it up and get a helmet anyways....but if i cant find a suitable one in time i would like to know if its okay to go without. thanks.

How many people are going so far in total?
How many laps do we get, or is it unlimited from 5-8pm?

Laps are usually unlimited but restricting laps to groups kind of sucks as your waiting around. The people I usually go with just let everybody on as long as its safe as some people are cooling down their brakes or tires while others are lapping. Like its never everybody on the track.

sweet. so count me in for sure. spoke with the boss man today and its cool to take an afternoon off for racing. lol. hes big into racing himself. Also, my friend with the STI said he will be coming unless something comes up, but more than likely hes in to.

I've never been to a track day. What happens with insurance for the cars? If anything happened ours insurance companies wouldn't cover it would they?

I am pretty sure that your insurance company does not cover your car on the race track

Let's just say you'd be better off pushing your car to the highway and state some random claim then even mention the word "track" to your insurance company.

Or have a flat bed truck on speed dial.
