2009 TLMC Solo2 Schedule

I thought I would post our club's 2009 Solo2 schedule:

Sunday May 10th
Sunday June 28th
Sunday July 5th
Sunday July 19th
Sunday August 9th
Saturday August 22nd - Shootout
Sunday September 13th
Sunday October 4th - Regional

All events are at the Barrie Molson Centre and all other info and rules are available on our website, although the newest schedule and information will be forthcoming.

Here are the classing basics.

S1 Our stock class, pared down directly from the multitude of classes in the CASC Regional rulebook. "R" Compound tires plus a couple of light mods are allowed.

ST1 & ST2 for lightly modded cars with bolt ons. These classes come from SCCA Street Touring classing. Cars are limited by number of seats and displacement. Only street tires are allowed (treadwear rating 140 or higher).

SP1 & SP2 These classes are cars with serious modifications. Most of the SS and SP classes from the CASC Regional rulebook will be here. I'll be running in SP2 with my MX-5 this year.

MOD Pretty much anything goes in this class. All out race cars are the norm.

what class would mazdaspeed3 with mazdaspeed factory intake be under?

probably get bumped up to ST1 along with other heavily modded cars, that means I wont have much chance

this is a event is good for bigger clumsier cars, the parking lots is pretty big and the course isn't as tight as others

I think the speed is a SS in the regional classification

You would be in ST2, which is where I was last year with my bone stock Mazdaspeed6. I won the class overall beating an MR2, Pontiac Solstice, G35 among others. It wasn't easy but your car would be fine in ST2.

The Potenza RE050A's that come on our cars. They are a very good tire. Mind you I am on my second set and my car only has 48K on it, so after not quite two summers they were down to the wear bars.

dang...I no longer run RT615's, and with my shitty D101 w/ 300 treadwear, I won't do so well in a series like this...and if I run the r-compounds, then I'd be even less competitive...lol...

Tirerack and 1010 Tires both have clearance prices for RE-01R's at the moment...
