What would you guys do?
Here's the question: should I keep my speed 3 or consider buying my father-in-law's G35?
My car: 2007 Speed 3 - CP-e CAI, TWM STS, CP-e engine mount, etc
My father-in-laws car: 2004 G35 Sedan 6M Sport edition, red, 6spd manual, Stillen STS, Stillen Cat back exhaust (with just over 300hp), built-in navigation, 54,000km with new summers, winter's on rims, new paint, brakes, etc
I could potentially sell my car and have some $$ left over after purchasing his car. I love the speed 3, but that Stillen exhaust with rear wheel drive is a blast to drive!
Only problem is, no room for the dog, but that's why we have the Mazda 5...

The only G35 I like is the coupe. I say keep the speed.

I agree with S.F.W. I really only like the look of the Coupe. I'd keep the speed3 too.

I have to agree.
The earlier G35 sedans weren't all that attractive. You'd also be losing any warranty too.
Keep the Speed.

The coupes are nice but so are the sedans in my book. I say go with the sedan and kick the speed to the curb

Lol, all g35's are fugly and slow. Especially the sedan. It's like they put lead weights in the doors or something to make it as heavy as it is.

If its the same year or 1 year under then i'll take the G35 but since its much older then i'd keep the speed.

Slow??? You probably haven't driven a lightly modified one.
After (not too much) deliberation, I will most definitely be keeping the Speed3. The G35 will be posted for private sale (he's trading it for a WRX265 or STi - he has't decided yet) :)

Well, lets just say a dude in Quebec on the highway was getting a bit "gasy" in one of the sedans with at least an intake and exhaust (didn't sound stock and loud as hell even with windows closed). I never had to take it out of 6th. He never had the chance to use his rearview mirror. I've also had no problems at all leaving a stock g35 coupe in my dust keeping in 5th gear, aswell. So my deduction is that yes, they are slow, seeing as how my MS3 isn't particularly fast, anyway.

slower, older, less practical, less fun... why?

Why? Easy; rwd, leather, sunroof and heated seats ;)
No, actually, because it's my father in law's car, we'd get the car at a steal of a price. It is a very fun car to drive, but, not as much fun as the speed3. :)
I usually salivate at the autoshow looking at the "next" car I'd get. Sure, the matt grey Carrera 4S and the Cayenne GTS that Pfaff had were awesome, but the only realistic car for me that I'd have even an inkling to get over the speed3 is the WRX Sti.
Unless I win a lottery or something, the Speed 3 will be with me for a while. Back to looking at my next mod I guess :)

This is a good thing to hear.
Even if I somehow won a lottery, I'd pay off my MS3 loan, then convert the MS3 to AWD and see if I can get it close to 550 awhp. :) It would still be my daily driver.
