Tomorrow is the day that I will install my Cobb sport springs. Anything I should know? Any feedbacks on ride/handling or even some pics would be nice. :)

there is no really difference only that you are about 1" lower then stock
cobb says that you are in specs so you don't need camber links.
(you are going to about 5" off the ground) can't get a jack under your car unless you have a low profile jack. other then that have found with them because i sure do.

Did any of you had any problems driving in the winter? Is it a stiff ride?

Not much of a drop. Still gonna have that gap I guess. Not as bad as stock though.

no problem with driving in the winter, just get a good set of winter tires.

I have a good set of winters already. I guess it still leave a reasonable gap in the rear. How long 'till they settle in?

how long did it take like that with no hoist? I figure we should be done in about 2hrs in a shop with some proper tools.

Check his thread in the garage / shop review section. His shop is Street Performance and he has a huge following on this forum. I've gone to Jimmy for everything:

Springs
Springs and Struts
Swaybar
motor mount
cold air
exhaust
header
custom exhaust work

I get my tires swapped there; oil changed; air filter changed; tires plugged. He does all of my trouble shooting, etc, etc......

Hey just to let everyone know if it's not too obvious, BMWs and Audis do come "lowered" from the factory. So do the sales rep or manual warn you about bottoming out too? I am not joking, anyone read a manual for these luxury cars? :chuckle I believe the Lexus IS have little wheel gap as well.

There is an Audi A4 right beside my parking space in my condo and many new BMWs as well so I did a straight comparison. I know they didn't lower it because the car is new and they just had a baby.

It's really easy to scrape the front even without the drop..
Thank goodness the little black plastic lip thing is there!

I love the car lowered. I know i just have to get used to taking on/off driveways. I did go to Jimmy and he was done in an hour and $100. He is a nice guy to deal with.

So after I had my car lowered for about 2 weeks now, I noticed that when I'm making slow sharp left or right turns there is a whining sound coming from the front suspension. I'm saying about 20 km/hr. Has anyone experienced something like this?

stormin84
03-29-2009, 08:22 AM
what exactly is the noise if there is a clunk when you turn at low speed it is your strut bearings and they need to be replaced.

Zspeed
03-29-2009, 10:09 PM
It's not a clunk. It's a high pitch noise from the front suspension. But when I take a turn faster then 20 km/hr, it's not there. It almost sounds like a power steering pump/pulley noise. It's weird cause I never heard it before and just started about 2-3 day ago. Is this something that you also experience???

Donutz
03-29-2009, 10:27 PM
Yeah, it sounds like it is your ps pump. I get it sometimes too. Search the forum and you will find this is pretty common in our car.

Have you had yours replaced yet under warrabty? My car only has 10k on it. Would this be a problem at a deareship if my car is modified?
