Hello TM3, Chaos here, new to the forum. I have been looking around for a great and better auto club (I won't mention the other one that myself and some friends were a part of - we didn’t stick around long there, not very friendly people) but it looks like i have found a great one. Don’t have a 3 yet, but am in the market and both my fiancé and myself will be buying one within the month. I have many friends with them and have loved them from the beginning, one friend has even moved on to an Rx-8. Right now I’m driving a 2002 Honda accord se. I have done some mods to it, but nothing crazy (lowered, rims & tires, CAI, brakes, new lights, stereo). I won’t post pictures of it thought, it’s not a 3! It’s not worthy enough, lol. Anyways looks like a great forum, can't wait to own a 3! I'm looking for a 09 GT sedan in CWP - manual of course.

Thanks,

Hi Chaos,

Welcome to Club! You are right...the members on this forum are avid zoom zoomers and love their Mazdas. I must say that mazda had some of the sexiest cars on the market and the best customers.

Feel free to email or call with any questions. I take pride in offering members the best price and service.

Welcome! Are you gonna get a '09 or '10?

Chaos
03-18-2009, 04:02 PM
Thanks for the welcome guys. I am looking to get an 09, I'm not a big fan of the ext. of the 10, plus I wouldnt want to buy the first string of a new model. But having said that the 10 comes with standards and options you dont "normally" find on that price point of a car. It will be interseting to see how it does.

Welcome to TM3!!

Be sure to see Jeff at Mazda of Toronto when picking up your 3s for you and your fiance! Might be able to get a major deal if buying two at once!

Can't wait to see pictures of the dual beauties!

I will definitely give MOT the chance to give me a quote. Yes we are buying two cars, although I think my fiancé has already found the one she likes here in town (London - Probart Mazda). But I am not sold at all.

I'm not a big fan of the sales there and have heard some bad things about the dealership (but she found the one she must have, lol). I am defiantly willing to drive to find a good deal on a good car and be able to deal with a good dealership, right now the dealer I deal with in London for my Honda; I would never go there to buy a car from them. The only guy there that is cool is the aftermarket guy. Plus I am looking at getting a few things for my car once I have it, tinted asap, and a sharkfin, then I'll look into what else is out there for the 3. It seems like there is tonnes of retailers in Toronto that deal with Mazda 3's.

Thanks for the welcomes, I will definitely keep you posted on the results, if all goes well I think my fiancé will have her car by this weekend or buy Monday, we'll defiantly have some pics, I will post!

Once the weather is consistently nice we'll bring her car down to a meet, I've also got 3 other friends with 3's and hopefully I will have mine by then too! We'll do a little convoy from London. Maybe there is other people in the London and area who would like to set up a go to Toronto sometime.

He USED to work for Honda (both London and Westgagte), but obviously he isn't there anymore if you can't find a "cool dealer" there...lol Anyways, let me know!

Not sure. I know he is now working for the NEW PL ( I hope that's right ) in London.

I manage a band and we did our last cd recording at the Fanshawe studio.

People were great there! We started recording at 9pm and went right thru to 9am.

I hope to be in London sometime in the next month or so.

I will message you to see if we can get a mini meet going.

Hey guys, well its official, the fiancé just finished up all the paper work for her 3. She gets it on Monday, so well do a meet in London soon, like end of next week or the first week of April. :) I'll round up some people I know with 3's and start a new thread about a meet time & place

She got and 09 GT sedan auto (that sucks a bit) in Stormy Blue Mica. Such a sweet car, she wants to get it tinted asap, it will look even better with a tint job!

I will post som pics as soon as we have taken some!

Actually I'm not a sedan hater phil, I'd rather have one! But i got a deal I couldn't pass up, and the utility of the hatch is nice... Given the choice, I wouldn't hesitate to take a sedan, as long as it has a spoiler!

Ya this has sorta has taken a detour, to get back on topic, ya she has a sedan now, but i have wanted one since my buddy first got his in 04, i've always liked the touring look of a modded sedan, you guys will know best, is there any structural performan difference between the sedan and hatch? any diff in suspension set-up?

Chaos
03-20-2009, 10:41 AM
nah I dont mind we hicks got to stick together!, and ya manual....the only way, I want to be bale to control my car, not my car controlling its self! lol

Thrizzl3
03-20-2009, 10:42 AM
im pretty sure the suspension setup is the same.

EDIT:damn you people are making me regret getting a manual 3..but there is a reason why

Chaos
03-20-2009, 10:43 AM
ya thats what i though, thanks!

kevcol74
03-20-2009, 10:44 AM
Structurally I believe the hatch is more rigid (though not an expert) They chose the hatch for the speed3 for a reason, heard that this was due to rigidity. Suspension, I don't think so, but not 100% sure on that.
I can't say 100% on the rigidity either, as the speed6 was built with the sedan for its rgidity, but it also doesn't have a pass through with the back seat, thats where they reinforced the body.... Someone might know more and can clear this up, likely someone with a speed3! lol

Welcome to TM3!

Good luck on your purchase.

The hatch, even before there was a Speed version was considered the "sport". Maybe that was just a visual thing and there weren't any actual gains to be had.

My wife has an 08.5 sedan and I like the look of both our cars. Mazda 3 unity FTW! Hatches/Sedans/Speeds unite :bana

Chaos
03-23-2009, 10:48 AM
Ya I looked at the 2010, but don't like the styling and would not want to buy a new model, first year running.

As far as I am aware, there is no gain or loss between the GT hatch and the GT sedan. Obviously the speed is the leader.

I'm definitely looking forward to the purchase, going to pick up the fiancé 3 sedan today after work!

She got a 09’ GT sedan, auto, stormy blue mica.

Can't Wait!

Stormy blue mica - I am soooooooo jealous. I went on my first test drive this Saturday and even after only 15 minutes in the car, I absolutely LOVE the 2009 Mazda 3.

The only reason I didn't sign on the dotted line is because I can't decide what colour to go with - the galaxy grey or the metropolitan grey.

Geez if only all our problems were so petty :blush

Hey Guys,

Well last night we went to the dealership and picked up my fiancé car. Its so nice, I haven’t been in a GT for a while, but with the 17's and the added torque, it’s very nice. :)

Now that she has her car it just makes me want mine even more and sooner! lol :bana Have to sell the Honda first though.

We will be taking pictures today, I'll post soon!

Hey guys, well after some wheeling and dealing I pick up my car this Thursday! I wanted the CWP but in the end I went with the black mica instead! Sooo nice!

I'm super stoked, its a much better of a drive with a manual, feels way more sporty, than the fiances auto! and leaps better than my old accord!

We'll have to arrange some sort of london meet soon! :gone

Anyone inteerested PM me :bana
