Well as many of you know, I have made it a point to talk about the crappy quality of the mazda3 windshields

I drive from Scarborough to Oshawa everyday and have been since last June.

http://www.citynews.ca/news/news_33012.aspx

I knew there was something wrong in that stretch of the 401... Im not going to hessitate to get my complaint in with this councillor.

Maybe if enough people have damage a lawsuit can be filed against the province.. i know that's being optimistic but hey i can dream

Oh My Goodness! I've been one of the victims of something like this stretch last year!
I used to travel between Waterloo and Toronto in last spring on 401..
For many weeks, the roughed up patches increased as we traveled deeper into the spring of 2008.. It was thursday April 24th, I was on my way back from Waterloo.. The pebbles were worse than ever, I tried maintain distance between the car in front of me..
then BAM! I see a truck changing lane making big puff of dust.. followed by shower of rocks.
It was the first day I got stone chips.. One of them so big, that it showed bare metal..
The saddest day of my life..

yeah i got my fair share of that frickin scraped 401 WB stretch, i got 2 bad windshield stone chip/crack and more stonechips on the hood!

even if u leave plenty of room in front of you, speeding cars/trucks will still spray those road debris.

that sucks. Good thing I don't drive that area too much. I personally find the work on our highways takes too long.

omalak,

I'm in the same boat as you but I'm coming from the east and going west. Thanks to the crappy driving conditions I have a nice crack on my windshield cause of it. I'm also going to email the councillor about it. Ended up watching CityTV @ 6 and hear over 300 emails already received!

This is so wierd to hear cause I always comment on how strong my windshield is.. Once a month I'll hear a huge rock smash it, and expect to find a crack. I never do.. *knocks on wood*
