Head on collision into a 2008 Mazda 3. Amazingly, nobody was hurt in the Mazda but the driver of the Audi went into a coma.

That's sad and I also echo my sentiments that the driver will be ok. It looks like it wasn't quite head on, centre to centre I mean. $5.00 says that the guy in the audi was either not wearing his seatbelt and that's why he's in the coma, or the audi had a secondary crash after the initial impact, besides the door it looks like the rest of the cabin of the car is intact.

I know what you mean, but I think it's other way around:

the A8 slammed into the Mazda @ an angle or a frontal offset impact, and the Mazda would've hit the A8 head-on, and causing more of an side-impact to the A8 driver, might've hit his head on the window despite the best side-airbags would've done...might've died a Dale Ernhardt if not for the Audi's construction.
