How often should the air filter from a CAI be replaced? I have used my Fujitas for a year and thought maybe I should replace or clean it. Any ideas?

I change mine at least twice each year, in the spring and fall. Sometimes I'll change it more frequently during my oil changes (3 to 4 times each year). I have a spare filter, so I just pull the one out of my car, clean it, and put it away until I need it again.

I don't know if you have a dry or wet filter, but at the very least it would be a good idea to pull it out and take a look at it. For ease, you might want to invest in a spare so you can swap a clean one in without having any down time.

Im not sure which air filter type the Fujita one is but do you only have two air filters? The filters are pretty pricey and I don't feel like spending 250 on 3 air filters.

I guess its good to switch/clean them often to ensure everything is running smoothly but is once a year good enough?

if you buy the filter only should be cheaper... don't buy the whole CAI assembly all over again :)

Is Fujita F5 wet or dry? I think mines due for a cleaning.. How abouts do you do that.

I don't know if fujita is wet or dry. A filter shouldn't be too expensive. Fyi, you can buy a filter from a different company, as long as it's the right size. I recommend purchasing from a reputable company though.

To clean a dry filter you usually tap it to knock off loose dirt; clean it with some type of cleaning solution like AEM's two step cleaner; rinse; let it dry; install.

To clean a wet filter you use a cleaner spray; let it dry; spray with the appropriate wet solution; install.

Fujita is a dry filter. Not oiled.

There is however, Fujita does not make a cleaning solution for it, but it does give you a vague idea of how to clean it

From Fujita:

Cleaning the air filter is simple and can be done using soapy, lukewarm water, and let air dry. The Super Flow High Performance Air Filter™ contains a synthetic fiber that does not contain any oil.

I haven't cleaned my filter yet since I've only had it from February... I'm hoping to probably pull it out one night, clean it and dry it over night.

At that price, did the K&N filter come with a cleaning kit too? Joe @ MOT has the replacement filters for the MS CAI:
