oh, it's true. if you're travelling to the US and you don't want your business machine searched you have pretty much two options. travel with a blank hard disk and fed-ex your real hard disk back and forth, or use a vpn connection...

if you're travelling for personal reasons....pray you don't get searched.

As it sounds Canada would be part of this, so a fed-ex'd package may get searched when it arrives here, or by U.S. Customs before it left.

They do check those routes (fed-ex/UPS) occassionaly from what i've heard.
