This guy hit the nail on the head, what was Mazda thinking. The smiling "Hi" Neon campaign made everyone hate that car. I hope slow sales due to the new look don't deter the future devolpment of the MS3. Btw those rims are lame too. What part of 263hp and 280tq translate to "hi",and "I want to be your friend?" Poor read of the target audience demographic.

Wow... as a current 2010 gt owner id have to say... that front grill looks bad with the gills across the bottom... i like mine much better... i can see future MS3 owners swapping out that for the GT's grill..... though once you throw a plate on it, it might look ok

I agree with guy 100% completely. I could live with with the smiley face but not with the blah interior. I was deciding between a 2010 mazda 3 and an 09. When I test drove both and was in both the 09 won hands down.

The interior was a huge step back. The buttons seem cheap and lack the character the old mazda had. The driver focused nav at 1.5" or whatever. Seriously thats lacking as well.

In the end the 2010 costs more? It was a no brainer to get the 09!

I agree on the gt version looking better with a plate.. Perhaps mazda heard about us complaining that we dont want plates in front of our cars in ontario... Soooo, they made a design of the grille to force us to put a plate in front of it LOL!!

I drove both also and thought the 09's interior was seriously lacking.. personal opinion i guess.. to me the switch gear specifically feels much better in the 2010..

MUCH better styling and a better interior. Too bad the MK version isn't sold in Canada... could use the AWD.

for that price no question about it, my money would go towards the wrx, if they were to keep the original design give her 4wd and add some power then it would be a different story...mazda dropped a ball on this one, hope that aftermarket will fix their mistakes

sigh... i really want to love the new model. i like the new hood, interior gadgets and powertrain but that smile is just getting more and more weird. please mazda change it for 2011

I think he was right on.

I don't find the 2010 Speed3 appealing to look at. Ugly flares and bulges and I agree with the tail lights too.

Kind of a shame, maybe it will grow on me....maybe not.

I didn't really watch the video.. scrolled through and all it was some guy talking about the way it looks.
Yes the current gen looks better but seriously, he didn't even drive it, its not really a review is it.

The GT doesn't look AS happy perhaps, but if I had to choose between two butt-ugly sisters - I'd take the one with better "pipes" and go for the Speed version any day!! :hawt

Needless to say (but I'll say it anyway) I'm very disappointed with Mazda on this one - I give it 1-1.5 yrs before we (HOPEFULLY) see a revision of the smily-face.

looks aside, its hardly a new car. carry forward everything with a few small tweaks here and there.... that i find more dissappointing and to top it off, we don't even get the MPS version headlights or rear diffuser that looks better

vw, subaru, mitsibushi etc. are all jumping up and down as now they actually have a chance to win over some buyers in this segment
