Looks like its a huge event tonight
any ufc fans in here? and who will you be going for?
Will Silva lose its 1st match?
Will Chuck call it quits if he loses?
Anderson Silva Vs. Thales Leites
Chuck Liddell Vs. Mauricio Rua
Who you think will win and the outcome?

The Silva fight should be a no brainer. Clinch knee, knee, knee, done!
I think Chuck is done if he loses. Hard to call this bout since Rua's last fight with Coleman was a joke. He hasn't looked like his Pride fighting form ever since he started in UFC.

IMO, Silva will win, Chuck will lose. And Machida will be the new champ next month

Well....Just watched it...it was very disappointing...no knock on Anderson Silva, Leites just kept ducking and throwing himself on the ground. The Liddell fight was actually better. I think it will be his last fight.

I couldn't help but laugh during the Silva fight...Thales Leites wasn't in Silvas league.
The ice man's days are over...

yeah, i think Silva was bored so he threw in a behind the foot soccer kick for fun :)....

Yea but why did Silva drag it out for 25 minutes? He was dancing and playing with the guy, no one wanted to see him dance for 5 rounds, it was embarrassing.
Don't get me wrong, Leites is dangerous on the ground, but after the 3rd round he was gassed and wouldn't have been a real threat for Silva to go in there and end it.
Worst main event since Silvia / Arlovski 3.

Leites was on the floor most of the match....but that was before he was even hit...he kept throwing himself on the ground hoping that silva would just lie on top of him...i mean he's the challenger..he should have been the aggressor...he's the one going after the belt. But your right...it was a bit much with the Dancing feints

That's exactly it. The fight was boring absolutely no chance Leites was gonna win that plus I wonder if he knew where he was going cause he totally killed his rep with that fight.

Absolutely, theres no way Leites will ever be the main event on a card ever again. Dana White will make sure hes working the undercard from now on if he's lucky.

The Silva fight sucked because Thales has no boxing skills and made no attempt to stand and bang. I don't blame silva at all for what he did. Was it exciting? Not even a little bit but everyone knew Silva wasn't going to the ground under any circumstance.
Liddell is done. Dana already confirmed it in 2 post-fight interviews just watched them this morning. So at the very least his career in the UFC is over. He's had a fantastic career but he just doesn't have it anymore

I was there (got free tickets in the Reds). Overall it was an awesome night except for the last fight, which should have capped of a great night. Instead we got boring, but more about that later.
There was a lot of Canadian fighters in the mix and most of them did really well. Loiseau was the except, some great highlight stuff, but than spent 14 minutes crouched down getting pummeled, felt bad cause the crowd was definitely behind him. Sam Stout and Krysztof Soszynski had great fights, man Sozynski laid in a pretty hard kimora.
Felt bad for Liddell, he actually hit Rua pretty hard at the same time, but Rua took it and planted Liddell.
Silva vs Leites was a great tactical fight for Silva, however from a fans point it was crap, think trap hockey. However, even though Silva didn't go for the KO, I balme this on Leites, as the contender you have to push, if he wanted a ground game, take your guy down, don't lay there like a fish. I can't blame Silva for not going for the KO, after the third round once he realized that he could win by just throwing kicks and being conservative why would he risk losing. Leites will be lucky if he gets another fight, apparently Dana White was pissed off, which he should be.
Still I had a great time and overall it was a good night of fighting.

Well said about the Silva fight. That is exactly what I thought as well. However Dana said he was pissed at Silva for putting on a boring fight. I can understand why Dana would be upset but like you said Silva wasn't going to put himself in a position to get caught when he doesn't have to.
Silva should fight Patrick Cote again if he thinks there is no good talent for him left at MW. Cote had Silva legitimately defending himself because of Cotes constant pressure.
For the record you forgot to mention Jason McDonalds loss. Which suck I'm an 'Athlete' fan lol

Oh yeah forgot to mention Jason McDonald, no idea how I missed that cause Nate messed him up pretty good. Funny though, at one point the ruling body in Quebec wanted the UFC to ban all knee and elbow strikes, apparently the UFC managed to get it down to no foot stomps only.
Dana was probably upset because he thinks really highly of silva and that he can drop anyone. Its a "I have high expectation so when you don't perform its more of a disappointment" thing. But I am sure Leites got a ripping from White as well for "not fighting".

Great experience being there, but ya the fights were pretty garbage....I think both Silva and Leites are to blame for that poor performance. I mean Silva is a striker, Leites isn't, so it makes sense that he would want the fight on the ground. Now imagine you are getting punched in the face by one of the deadliest strikers in the game, for sure you'd drop down to your game....now yes I agree that the challenger should bring it to the champion, but Silva is supposed to be the pound for pound king.....do you think if BJ, Maia, Filho, Diaz gave GSP top position he would elbow toes and do Ali shuffles? No he'd be throwing bombs from above.....Silva is brutal....he needs a fight with someone like Jardine (at the very least) at LWH to wake him up....
Anyone else like to see Wiman vs. Guida? hahah would be like two crazy ferrets thrown in a cage

It was boring. But I don't really blame Silva. He tells everyone all the time that he doesn't train to be an exciting fighter. He trains to win. And if he's forced to win the way he did Saturday then what can you expect. It's definetly Thales' fault for his lack of boxing skills. Assuming he knows how to throw a punch, why wasn't he? Silva shouldn't have to put himself in a position to lose so he didn't. He's the champ.

yeah true say, the challenger should "challenge" the tittle poor showing on thales part...
