Please excuse the mess and chinese newspapers.

4 or 5 coats of primer. It kinda looks like some sort of satanic ritual ground, except it's composed of ancient bottles of jet-dry and mosquito repellant...

4 or 5 coats of rattle-can paint. Pretty impressed with how well it matches thus far!

My impromptu dust-guard. Looks kinda like a 3rd-world hydroponic grow-op...

Sleep tight my pretties!

I got the paint from Car Quest.

On another note, this blows!! :( I put a few coats of clearcoat on the eyebrows, and it's all dull now! I put on a few coats, being careful to leave sufficient time betweeen coats. BAH.

I'm going to put a few coats of paint on it, and call it a day :(

thats where you wrong, clearcoat is not like a paint. It has to be done quick and precise, with carefull movements. Each coat every 5-10min, 3rd and final coat should make those eyelids giving wettish look. Then leave it for a day. MOst important thing is dont leave clearcoat drying between each coat. It will cause uneven rough surface. If that happens, then you need to grab 1000grid sandpaper with water and take all clear coat off and repeat clearcoat proces again.

^^^ That's what I did though? I did a coat every 10 minutes, then left it overnight.

Can clearcoat go bad? I think I left this can in my garage over the winter.

Maybe your coats of clear were too thin/light?

You could try to wetsand with 1200, 1500, 2000, then rubbing compound and buff them. Can't hurt since you might have to respray anyway.

^ I agree, the clear is already on, might as well just wet sand to a polish! As long as you put enough coats of clear on....
And yes, you can cause issues if you let paint freeze in the winter!

lol - I don't even remember buying this clearcoat, so it might have spent more than 1 winter freezing near the ground.

also room temp should be ~20 degrees, and when you spray clearcoat again after wet sanding, do 2 coats and give like 5 min between. 2nd coat should end up with eyelids looking wet and shiny.
