Yesterday i drove to Niagara Falls.. parked my car went for a walk had dinner ...came back started the car the engine heat was still up (middle ) not overheating .... is it normal after almost 2 h of not driving the car .....the engine didn't cool down ?same thing when i came back to Toronto...i was parked for like 1 h still didn't go down .... its a 08 gs manual the only mods i have is a prm intake... didn't experice this before .

i dunno about that. Parking for 2 hours and it didnt go down? It should cool down. Even 1 hour is enough time for it to go down a noticeable amount. You should get it checked

warm... i was driving in rain and about 18 degrees ...and still 2 h to cool down seems a long time

In this weather now mine does not cool down that quick..i wouldn't bother getting it checked...my $.02

Do you have a hatch by chance? I believe they (or might be GT's) get a hood liner which keeps in alot of heat.

To answer the OP question, yes mine usually keeps most of the heat within a couple of hours.

nope its a sedan GS..ill see how is it today if i have the same problem ill go to the dealer ...i can go to any Mazda dealer right ? i don't have to go to the one that i got my car from

mine does the same thing when it's warm outside.
after a long drive, with the engine hot, once the car is stopped there's no more coolant circulation or fans blowing on the radiator. the engine has to cool naturally and it's a big mass of metals and plastics which holds the heat quite well.
so after a couple of hours it's still quite warm. not hot, but definitely not ambient either.
