Prokits with a 1.2" drop are pretty much always safe.
Beyond that....
Too many variables for a simple answer. Depends on the offset and to a degree the width of your rims. Also what tires your are running. Whether you use aftermarket camber arms. Are you willing to roll your fenders?
There are lots of threads on this here... you just need to search for them. (Or wait for MGM to find them for you :chuckle)

Those are thick ass tires. But I got away s-techs ( i think 2") on 215-45-17 rubber --- but now i have 215 40 17.

bingo.
wheels offset, width, and tires all play a major rule in lower a car.
some people rub, some dont.
i have my coilovers all the way down (around a 2" drop), and i have 215/45R17 tires and 17x7.5 et45 wheels, with more than enough room to spare. i think you'll be fine with whatever drop you want.
oh, and no camber in the rear, and no rolled fenders.
