I'm thinking of changing my Auto Transmission Oil and was wondering if I can use this brand/type "Mobil Multi-Vehicle Automatic Transmission Fluid, 5L
Product #0289051"
http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Auto/3/AutoFluidsChemicals/TransmissionFluidTreatments/PRDOVR~0289051P/Mobil%2BMulti-Vehicle%2BAutomatic%2BTransmission%2BFluid%252C%2B 5L.jsp...and any advice on changing transmission oil for a 2007 gt auto would be great! Thanks!

would go with:

ELF ELFMATIC Auto transmission fluid, IMO higher quality then Mobil and the grade application for this fluid is compatible w/ Mazda auto trans fluid..

available at Mosi Motorsports:

Check on the back of the bottle .. :)
Next time shop around for better price you could get AMSOIL ATF that replacec Mazda MV :)

Mobil 1 - makes great oils as well.

I changed my automatic transmission fluid summer of last year. I used an ESSO Mercon V which was on sale before at Loblaws. You can check out this link from imperial oil, http://www.esso.ca/Canada-English/Products/Lubricants/PS_L_EssoAlphaIndex.asp
or
http://www.esso.ca/Canada-English/Files/Products_Lubes/IOCAENPVLESATF_Mercon_V.pdf

Just a tip, when purchasing an auto transmission fluid, make sure to read at the back of the bottle. The fluid should be suitable for transmissions requiring MERCON V fluids. Your dipstick also have some markings for your reference.

Just my experience.

our cars don't take Mercon V, it is NOT the same as Type M-V (that's eemmm five)... using the wrong fluid may damage the transmission or cause poor shifting!

Exactly ....
I know many people using - but that not what Mazda recommends

M-V is different fluid

Amsoil Universal .. says that Is Compatible with MV - Mazda
and thats what I use price is really good :) And I sleep well too ..

HappyJappy that Mobil1 stuff is NOT the right product to use!!....If you want one of the best, go with the Redline D4 ATF Full syn or Amsoil or get it from the dealer.
