Poke around this site... the nearest thing you will find is for installing the OEM Footwell lights.... same install, except you have to watch the polarityon the LEDs... if it is wrong the LEDs won't light and you will have to revese the wires.

i did light strips in my footwells.. Run the wires from the strips to ur map lights. That is the easiest.. But they will only come on when door open or close.. You can find a tutorial on this at mazda3forums.. Just google lighted door sill install for idiots. You will get the link..

You can also do a direct wire to the battery and install a switch but i dont have instructions for that..

Id post the m3f link, but i am on my phone

Note: some ppl connect their LEDs directly to the map lights. No need... the map light wires run the the PJB (fusebox) under the glovebox. Much easier to connect there... (that is the location the footwell lights instructions tell you about anyway)

You could easily run the wires to your audio deck area, There is a constant 12V source as well as a ignition ON 12V source. I use that for my gauge pods, make sure you install a fuse of some kind and if its small led's use a resisitor.
