so when I step on the gas, the car starts moving about 1 second after... what should I buy to improve this?

Get a car with a manual transmission. Sorry to be snarky but it's the truth. As good as you think Automatic's are they can never compare with a manual. And yes....I drive an automatic myself.

They should have provided a gift receipt with the car.

You can do a Transmission swap... or trade it in and get a stick shift!

Race launch: One foot on the brake, the other on the accelerator. Apply the brake. Floor the accelerator. Release brake. Zoom! :chuckle

Sprintbooster. Look it up on m3f as there are people there who have it installed. You can find info on it here, but as of now I don't believe anyone here has it installed.

I'm not sure that will help too much... the SprintBooster changes how fast you ask the car to open the throttle, but it won't overcome the physics of the tranny....

I think sprintbooster will achieve what the op is looking for (throttle response). But I absolutely agree that the sprintbooster will not overcome the physics of the tranny.

Sprintbooster works, as I have read numerous reviews on it. However, I wouldnt spend that dollar amount on a car like a Mazda 3, but on something like a 350z or RX-8 IMO.

Mazdaspeed 3 accelarator pedal assembly. I just swapped out my stock one for this and already noticed a difference.

I drive a standard btw.

It feels better on take-off over the stock pedal assembly. Looks better too since I also picked up the MS3 clutch and brake pedal pads. Total removal/install took about 1 hour.

Let's just say if you could find a wrecked MS3 in the scrapyard go pull it off that.

Hum....I wonder what Mazdaspeed Motorsports would say about me ordering these through them.

Anyone got part numbers?

was looking into the sprint booster, a buddy of mine got it too. doesn't seem worth it on an auto, it's like 450 installed.
