So, I just changed my air filter, but I don't know if I did it properly.

are you supposed to disconnect the big rubber intake duct?

I just removed the battery air duct, then opened all clips, disconnected the sensor wire and kind-of wiggled the cover of the air filter up, enough so I could slide the air filter from the side.

then I slid in the new air filter and pushed he cover down on it, and reconnected everything back the way it was.

Everything is quite tight and parts of the intake were rubbing against parts of the wiring harness so it took me a couple of minutes to open the cover.
I'm wondering if I was supposed to do it differently.

As long as everthing is back in the right place and nothing broke... then the way you did it is just fine.
