As you can see with the before and after dyno sheets, there's very little power loss...and in fact you can argue you GAIN in fuel economy...WIN-WIN-FTMFW...

doesn't this take away from the fun of driving a speed3 =(
lol those aren't even MS3 engine pictures, are they? ;) Nothing seems to line up (Turbo looks to be near the rad) and everything looks old. =)
I wonder what a non-turbo MS3 dynos though... They still run high compression, so I wonder if they would be comparable to a regular 3.

lol thats kinda stupid to cap off the turbine. Why not just take out the whole turbo and just get stock header for the car? Less weight?
And CJ your right, thats not an MS3. Our turbo is closer to the firewall.

1. don't believe everything you read on the net.
2. even if it looks good and others are raving about it, judge for yourself to see if it fits your own plans.
3. have a sense of humour. :)
hope today will be a better day on the forums...

I remember when I first got my MS3 and started posting here, a new MS3 owner asked if the turbo could be removed for better mileage and he was being serious about it. He said he wanted the MS3 for the look and suspension/frame set up. He got horribly flamed and I havent seen him back since.

Uh, Optra as in Chevy Optra (aka Suzuki Forenza)?
How did it not explode the second he turbo'd it.
Ghetto does not even begin to describe his setup.

Hello to all. I am the owner of this car, and I had a very good reason for doing this. The fact that it ended up here was just a joke by one of my friends. This car has been a work in progress for several years, but is also my daily driver.

The reason for capping off the turbine was to be able to send out the turbo for a rebuild, while still being able to drive the car around in the meantime. I know its certainly not the ideal setup for making NA power, but leaving the housing in there meant the least work, time, and effort required to make the change. Besides its only temporary for a couple weeks.

Yes it is a Suzuki Forenza / Chevy Optra.... and whats so bad about that? The car's drivetrain is based on Opel/Vauxhall variants from GM Europe. The bottom end has been used for many years in other models, and has proven itself robust and reliable. The car also has KW V3 coilovers, and a 6 speed Getrag gearbox imported from Europe. What's best about this car is that no one suspects it, until all they see is my taillights pulling away from them.... which happens to include stock or lightly modded Speed3's as well :P
Don't be so quick to judge..... heres a dyno to show what the car actually makes:

Thanks man. No worries, I told him to go ahead and do it :)
Just looking around here, there does seem to be alot of drama in the world of MazdaSpeed3/6 with blown motors and warranty claims etc. Hope you guys can figure out some solutions.
LOL
Your car is nowhere close to be slightly modified.
Take a heavily modifed Speed 3, just like yours, and you would be droped behind big time.
Anyway, nice ride, congrats on all the work accomplished so far. Dyno results are impressing.

Luc, doesn't matter that his car is heavily modded. He took a car that is anything but a performance car and made it fast. It's like someone taking a 3 and making it hang with a MS3. That's impressive.
