Hey Guys!
I'm going to be doing my first oil change soon and am going to make the switch to Full Synthetic Group IV.
I plan on putting in German Castrol Oil @ 0W-30.
My question is would putting a different Oil Grade void warranty?
I tried searching this but with no real results. My manual book states if you can't find 5W-20 then use 5W-30.
Also is German Castrol Oil SM?
I don't want to void warranty, but I do want the best protection I can get.
AmsOil is out of the question due to the lack of API (It may be the best oil, but it's not worth voiding any warranty!)

+1 to what Majestic said.
My advice would be to stick to the 5w-20 SM grade whilst under warranty, just incase something happens to your motor, you don't want to give Mazda any ammo!
Also any brand synthetic will do fine if you don't track the vehicle, imho...I used Mobil1 for approx 70k of my engines life and she's running clean and strong with no oil burn or loss.Switched to GC after warranty.

GC is SL beside its 0w30 but its like thin 0w40
Using Amsoil your warranty will be not voided...
If your engine fail because of lubrication Amsoil will pay up there is Amsoil warranty.
Beside .. Amsoil 5w20 XL series is API certified...
yes 0w20 and 0w30 is not but I doesn't change anything.
Cheers,
K.

Thin like 0W40? From my understanding higher numbers mean a higher viscosity, so a thicker oil. So a 0W40 is actually thicker than a 0W30.

i read it the same way too at first, but what he's saying is that GC 0w30 is like a thin 0w40....which, in essence, GC is since it is closer to a 40wt than a 30wt in terms of viscosity.

get either 5w30 or use 0w20, 40 will be too heavy for it, just gonna use more gas

I can attest to Amsoil SSO 0W30. I'm using them now and when I'm out, I'm sticking back to GC because it's CHEAPER..LOL
