View Full Version : Is Mazda of Brampton any good for servicing?
I bought my car from Mazda of Brampton and scheduled my first oil change to be done in Aug. there. Has anyone got their cars repaired at Mazda of Brampton? If so, are you happy with their work?
Oakville is bit too far to go but Direct Mazda in Mississauga is close to my work place.
BTW, my car purchase experience was less than satisfactory.

I bought and have serviced my car from them once so far. I had the oil change done there and I paid an extra few bucks to have the fluids topped up, Im assuming windshield washer fluid is included but 3 days later I ran out of it so Im guessing they did nothing. Wasnt too happy about that.
Secondly I told them that the bass on my stereo cuts out randomly and I also told him that its pretty common because Ive read alot about it on this forum. Some people just get the whole HU replaced and the adviser tells me that hes never once heard of such a problem in his years with Mazda. I highly doubt that.
I live 2 min away from it so the convenience factor keeps me there but Im thinking I might try somewhere else.

I've gone in once looking for some help after parts had closed and the guy I spoke with was an unprofessional ass!! I'll never go back. I live 5 min from the dealership but will go to the dealer where I purchased my car for any service I need. Oakville Mazda has been nothing but amazing!!

The TSB for the radio and the bass problem has been out for awhile now. If you want to get the exact info, feel free to call anyone in our service department. They'll get you the info and can check your VIN for you.
Some dealerships top up your fluids for free and some don't. It's not a Mazda policy, and it depends on the dealer's approach. Just ask them the next time you go in. For me, the minor cost and time it takes to top up your fluids is a nice touch that most people appreciate. It's a bit of a pain to stop at a gas station and pay $4.99 for wiper fluid because you run out at exactly the wrong time ;)
If there is something I can do to help, let me know.

It sounds like you do a great job at Oakville Mazda, far better then Brampton anyway. Its a 40min drive for me but I think I might make the trip down there.
I'll definitely call about the stereo and check that out. Thanks.

Let me say this: if you live in Brampton it is *absolutely* worth the drive to Oakville. Be thankful that you live even that close to such a customer-friendly dealership!
I didn't have any real negative experiences at Brampton, but they did a couple of little things that irked me enough to seek out greener pastures. Those things included:
- refusing to believe me when I told them 16" steelies would fit on a Speed3 for winters and insisting on trying to sell me a much more expensive winter package. I wanted to buy my winter setup from them.. I went so far as to print off pics from the net showing 16" steelies on Speed3's from this forum, but they refused to pursue ordering any.
- they once changed my oil and listed my car as a Mazda3, not a Speed3, and the work order showed that they used the oil for non-turbo cars as opposed to what's supposed to go in my engine. They assured me that it was just a typo and that they really did put the right oil in, but that really bugged me. We all know we pay a premium to have service done at Mazda, and part of my justification for doing that is so I don't have to explain the difference between a Speed3 and a regular 3 like I have to explain to everyone else. They should already know. :)
- I printed off the "cold weather suspension noise" thread and brought it in with my car for them to look at. They immediately dismissed the printout, saying "you can't believe anything you read on the internet. This told me their mindset on information sharing is way out of date (unlike Oakville, who are fairly active here.. hello Jason and MazdaCookie! ;)). Further to that, when I picked up my car at the end of the day they said they were unable to reproduce the problem and said that I probably had something heavy in the car when going over a huge bump and it bottomed out. Right. To their credit, the service manager did come for a ride with me when I offered to show him what I (we) were talking about, and when it made the sound his eyes popped and he exclaimed "Dear God what was that?!". He offered to take the car back next time there was cold weather, but that was the last cold snap we had that year, and by the time the following winter rolled around my business was already elsewhere.
- when I went in for my 8k service I declined the tire rotation because I had split my mileage over the summer and winter setups, and was due to change back to the summers soon. I swear, when I declined that service the guy looked like I had slapped him in the face and he was going to cry. His disposition changed completely and he got all quiet. The work order I was handed said "recommended service declined: tire rotation". When I asked if he actually recommended rotating the tires at 4k like my situation he said tersely "the computer just puts that in automatically". I didn't want to argue for fear of making a scene, but I started wondering if I ever had engine trouble and this guy didn't take his medication that day would he try to void my warranty for not rotating the tires when he "recommended"? So I haven't been back.
I don't think any of these experiences is all that bad, but Oakville has shown me every time I go there that they are willing to go *way* above and beyond for their customers (the discounts for TM3 members are gravy on top of their efforts), and they have earned my business and loyalty. It is totally worth the drive, in my opinion.

Is your car white? I may have seen you around the area. I drive a CWP speed3.
My issue was minor but very annoying:
I ended up having a faulty gas cap. It broke on me at around 8pm one evening. I managed to get the cap back on but it split into 2 pieces. Since I was across the street from the Brampton dealer I thought I'd see if they could help me. I walked in and locked eyes with a guy sitting behind the front counter. But as I got within speaking distance he suddenly turned and started speaking to a salesman. This was the first thing that pissed me off. Once they were done talking he turned and looked at me as if to say "what do YOU want?" When I explained to him what happened his response was "sorry parts is closed and I don't have a key". No attempt to go that extra mile and make me feel like he cared about a customer was made. He could have asked to come see the car. He could have informed me of the time that parts will be open the next day. But he did nothing. Just sat their with a "stop bothering me" look on his face. For a moment I thought about drilling my fist through his head. But decided against it.
The next day I drove the 20 min out to Oakville and was treated like a human being. Tiffany's service was exceptional. It's funny how much difference a simple smile can make to a customer. It was totally worth the drive just for a simple gas cap. I'll never go anywhere else for service.

Black Mica Speed3 actually.
Yeah, even if they couldn't help you at 8pm, which is understandable, they could have handled your situation a lot better. I bought my car there and really liked the guy I bought from, but he and everyone else I knew there except 2 left within 6 months of me buying my car, which also set off alarm bells for me.
Anyway, glad you enjoy the service at Oakville like I and many others do!

What is the discount offered to TM3 members by Oakvilee Mazda?
For example the standard Mazda rate for a oil change is$39 - How much would Oakvill charge.
Another question: Bass on my radio does not cut off but when I hear bass the sound is distorted - like speakers are broken. I don't crank up the volume. Would this be covered in the TSB? Has anyone had this problem.

Before going to Oakville I did speak with one of their sales reps. Seemed like a nice enough guy. He just didn't seem to want me to purchase a speed3. He keep pushing the 2010's even though they had a red speed on the lot. Anyways, I'm happy now.

They left tools in my car and completely denied it (In the engine), as well as leaving my engine head bolts unscrewed and a spark plug all loose. Caused me a nice little fire because coolant leaked out from a BAD coolant flange they "fixed" That's brampton for ya, and guess what, I'm banned from there because I told them I Went to missisauga mazda for service at the end of all of this.

Holy CRAP! Did they cover the damage? I'm guessing you have a thread about this. I'll search.

I wish I would have found this forum BEFORE I went there for my new Mazda3. I'm only 3 minutes away from Brampton Mazda so the convenience factor plays a huge role. I found the sales staff (the couple I talked to at least) to be reasonable. Will keep an open mind when it comes time to have the 1st service done. It's good to know Oakville is the place to go should I get any grief in Brampton though.

I went to Direct Mazda in Mississauga for my first oil change last weekend... as it was super busy everywhere else I tried. I even went to Oakville mazda for a walk in but they were busy...
Direct Mazda Quick and easy but it cost me $72 for an oil change and tire rotation... After all said and done I came to know that direct mazda has the same owner that owns mountain mazda as well and yet I was not given the 17% discount promised by mountain mazda...
Well next time i'll just make an appointment for Oakville mazda up ahead of time for an oil change...

Mazda brampton has great service, however, they seem to be really busy and hard to schedule any big repairs or maintenance on weekends. I bought my 3 from there.
