If not the engine cover, are you talking about the metal thing above the exhaust underneath the car?

like someone here said already , it ratle like crazy

I went underneath the car and saw that some of it was already comming apart. So i just decided to take it all out... I must said its a dirty job but after it was out the ratling noise stopped.

So it was a noise issue, which I thought,:) nothing to do with performance.

I'm assuming the heat shield has been strategically placed there for a reason. I'd make sure to talk to a mechanic to make sure the heat being generated by the exhaust will not cause any damage.

my wife already took the car to the dealer to change the tranny oil... they inspected the car and told us that many people removed the heat shield after a while .... he said we can replace it but nothing happens to the car if it doesnt have one...

car is in perfect conditions , recently pass the emission test with flying colours and the heat shield has been of for more than a year i would said
