Hey everyone,

So as I was popping open the hood to top up some fluids today, I noticed this:

It's like the car has a pimple. :( Is there any way to fix this or would I have to replace the whole grill?

Also, anyone know where I can get some touchup paint for that silver? No idea where my original touchup pen went but according to some posts on this forum it's a piece of crap anyways.

Picture didn't seem to work.
Take 2:

Sorry for the quality, trying to take it with a cameraphone in the garage lol.

is it that black spot on the edge of the hood?

Right in the middle of the pic. Left of the cap on the container.

It's the little bubble/chip on the chrome.

maybe a stone chip?

Possibly.

Also, to clarify on my original post: I'm asking about touchup paint for the silver used on Mazda3's, not the chrome. I have another little scratch (not a chip) that I want to just cover up a bit.

I have no idea what I'm looking at...... lol, is the image distorted too? Makin me dizzzyyy!!!

Well if it's just paint missing then you can just get a pen from any mazda dealership... if it's a rust bubble (you refer to a pimple? lol) then you'd have to get that looked after professionally (or sand it down and repaint it yourself)... not sure why you'd need to replace the entire grill.... if that is a grill I'm looking at.......?:whoa

Edit: OH WAIT!!!! I'm starting to see it now... hahahha is that just a reflection?? Wow it's like one of those 3D magic eye things.. takes a while... hahahhah, yeah you can just replace that chrome piece if you can't live with the imperfection... I think someone was selling one on here actually.

Lol yeah the chrome reflection makes things confusing. It's a lot more noticeable out in the sun.

How old is your 3??? I personally never pay more for the rust proofing, i figure at some point if you drive in the winter a lot, something will bubble up with all the salt on the road. Is the pimping discolored or still the same color as the paint?
