Flight Aware has it set as a Boeing 777... maybe they haven't yet developed a code for the A380 yet.

So, sicsol , which run way they going to use?
I'm not sure, it will all depend on the weather, since there calling for a T-Storm. At the moment aircraft are landing from east to west.
But it's anyone's guess, just follow the crowd.
Damm it I forgot to bring my camara

They finally list it as A388 for A380-800...
Estimated to land in about half hour... Just under 200 miles out of Toronto
I'm gonna try tuning into the ATC and see if I can hear anything.
STeeLy
06-01-2009, 03:29 PM
ATC even advised a WestJet flight if they were facing a certain direction, they could see the 380
If the friggin planes were landing West-East I could probably shoot (a picture) it from my house.. Wait a minute, they are landing west-east... I just saw an air canada jet come in....

This picture makes the A380 look like a flying model.
Yeah tell me about it. That's why I tried to get that one picture where it's flying over my neighbor's house (Well, not really, it's miles away lol)... Apparently the bloody thing is 8 stories high. I can only imagine how out of place it would look parked outside my house. ;)
Oh yeah, that reminds me... Further back in this thread I posted a very excited "I SEE IT!" post... I kept looking outside my window at home and normally I'll see planes flying in in their usual pattern and they're so far away that they don't look out of the ordinary. When I looked back and saw this massive slow moving beast, I was like "WOAH!"... If anyone's interested, I snapped a few pics with a different camera minutes before the A380 came in... They were large air canada planes, but next to the A380 they look tiny. ;)

Except the first one is an Embraer 175 I think... which in any scale will look significantly smaller along side the 380
However, the next pic which appears to be either a 777 or 767, that... really put the 380 into perspective

The pilot said they didn't have to worry about other planes behind them, which makes sense... They switched run ways around the time the A380 came in... They started landing west->east and after the A380 came in, I don't recall seeing many more planes landing in that direction. Then again, I stopped watching... It's not like I can hear the planes from my house... If it weren't for this thread, I'd have no idea it was even inbound lol.
Ha, cool, they included my picture on Pulse24...

There were definitely planes in front because as I was listening to the ATC one of the controllers said: If you had a rear view mirror, you'd see that 380.

That's hilarious..
Those Air Canada flights I took pics of were the ones in front... Plus there were two smaller craft that I didn't bother including pics of... They were barely visible :)
