so last nite i drove over to my girl friends and my hids were working fine, like usual. i went to leave to go get pizza at around 11 and they didnt turn on at all. i opened the hood and i played around finally i was pissed so i throw my battery cover undr the hood. it must of hit something b.c they turned on. so i got to the pizza pizza and wen i went to leave they didnt work. i opened the hood agian played around and got no luck. i drove home with no head lights. wen i got back it was like 12ish and i took the hole kit out of the car and reinstalled it, to nothing working still. any ideas to wat could be wrong with the system. i have had it for 5 months.

when you turn the headlights on do you hear the ballasts making the buzzing sound?

Maybe check your battery connections.
Sometimes when they are loose they can cut out on you.

no buzzing.. possibly busted ballast/ignitor.
but if both lights aren;t working, then that's very odd. Is it direct plug and play or did you go through a relay harness?
If you used a relay harness, try replacing the relay

if a relay harness is used you can also try pulling the fuse, replace if blown or just re-seat the fuse. check the connection of the trigger wire as well.

i think i have a bigger problem. i took the hids rite out an dput the old halogens back in and they dont work either,. and the head light fuse is good. i think im screwed. the car is a 2008.

I just started having the same problem with my fogs. The passenger side fog has only worked once since I noticed if off last week.
I figured I got a new bad bulb, but it worked yesterday.
I'll have to check for the buzzing noise and the battery connections.

Did you check the battery connections?
There are 2 attached to the positive side.
Check to make sure all of them are tight and not moving around.

Ya ive chaeck the battery connections. my day time running lights work and so do all the turn signals. it just that my low beam projectors dont work at all even with the original head lights that came with the car a year ago.

did your HID ground go into the projector headlight socket?
any damaged wires related to the headlight socket?

Test the headlight harness and see if theres power with a multimeter. If your in mississauga, I could check it for you. Shoot me a PM.

Had a similar problem with my HID passenger fog a few weeks ago. Dan swapped the bulbs to make sure they weren't the problem. All was fine for a few days then the same fog went out. Turned out it was a faulty ballast. Working perfectly after the install. Brendan @ Illumination Technik replaced with no questions asked.

Yeah I swapped bulbs when I got home.
It's the ballast.
Bad timing too - I just bought new bulbs two weeks ago!
Now I gotta decide to buy replacement kit or just use the oem halogens for now.

Any chance its still under the warranty coverage?

I bought my kits from Devin so my other ballast will probably die before I get my warranty replacements.
Figure I'll just buy a new kit or two from Brendan...the H7 kit will probably die soon.

It's a bit far for you, but you might want to ask McGuyver_3 to reinstall the kits.
He installed mine with the relays and independent fogs. I only once ran into problems with flickering because of a loose connection.

Another option is to book an appointment at Street Performance. Rich did an amazing job on fixing my HID problem and even tidied up the wiring behind the bumper.
