So I got 'let go' from my job yesterday

Thankfully I just paid off my visa! (was going to make a big purchase too lol)

Ya, unfortunately there is a club... it sucks. I am going to see an employment lawyer just to make sure I am getting as much money as I can if this tends to be a long one.(They allow some money for this)

I am also going to the dentist while my benefits still last.

This is the first time I have been without a job since I was 14 so 10 years was a good run without a hiccup and I started working right out of College as well I have been pretty fortunate thus far.


Yes you will see me at iceland I am going to try and keep my physical activities up while I sit around the house as I don't want to get lethargic. and depressed.

Ya that Red BMW is so sick, it's for sale as well. I have so many pictures of nice cars I have found over the years to post :)

Hey Dave, sorry about what happend. I just read through your blog.... and the one positive tha I can offer is that for once in your life you have an opportunity to really look into something you are very passionate about. Thats' not to say you didn't like your previous job, but there are alot of people who are employed at places they dislike; they dread going to work every day. You have an opportunity right now to look into and pursue a job/ career you are passionate about.

Well, that I'm not sure. It was not a layoff due to recession since they re hired for my position already.

I'm not sure what let go means, it feels like fired. However I just found out my creative director is fuming about it.

Doesn't sound very clear but if they already filled your position then it looks to me like they fired you. Sounds like you may have a case for wrongful dismisal. Did they give you ANY reason why you were let go???

I will, I have an interview on Monday actually, for a 6 month contract. The job actually doesn't interest me all that much on paper but I will see what happens in the interview. At the least I need interview expireance again.

The only reason I was given was 'skill set' which has been slowly eating away at me ever since.

My job title changed six months ago from Production Designer to Web developer and I am looking through my records for a paper trail of this.

At this time I expressed an interest to use the education budget to learn some new skills however I was kept to busy to ever do any on the job learning (which was the intent).

I had no verbal warnings or anything of the sort. I DO have a severance package and they do allow 500 to see an employment lawyer which I am doing next week.

Also I want to thank you guys for hitting my new blog (stance) over the past few days I've already had 300+ unique visitors and most came from here. :)
