Thought I'd post my story of what happened to me when I got my summer tires put on this year. I brought my car to the Canadian Tire on glendale in St.Catharines (Not necessarily totally relevant to Toronto but I thought I would post it anyways). I know most people would say not to go there but it's a 5 minute walk from my house so it's pretty convenient.
Anyways, when I got my car back every rim had the finish scratched off in a circular pattern around the bolts. I was pretty disappointed because the car was almost brand new. Anyway, I went in and talked to the Manager and once we looked at the car and determined that it was for sure from their piece, he was very quick to say that he would refinish them for me. So he arranged for a car rental that he would reimburse me for and got the rims sent off to be refinished. Only took a few days (I can't remember if it was 2 or 3) but when I got them back he filled the tires with nitrogen (canadian tire normally charges 25 bucks to do this) free of charge and the rims looked perfect.
All in all, it sucked that it happened but I was very impressed by the care that was taken to make sure everything was set back to normal and that I was happy. Not what most people would expect from Canadian Tire at least from the stories I've read.
Oh and I should mention that they replaced the faulty part that scratched them in the first place right away.
