anyone else go see this movie last night? I went with some buddies and i must say it was unreal! One of the best movies ive ever seen, none stop action, great graphics, sweet cars, good story, megan fox (looks amazing in this btw) plus a completely new hot girl. A must buy when it comes out on blu ray! im def going to see it again before its out of theatres

I Watched the movie, and personally i would give it 5/10 ... the action scenes were great, great all-round graphics and cinimetography...However the plot IMO was horrible, and the movie just felt like it kept dragging on. Was quite dissappointed to tell you the truth. At least there was some slow motion runs of Meghan Fox =P

i think the original transformers cartoon always had a terrible plot too... for me, transformers was no more than robots vs robots with a silly plot.

i give bay the credit for at least capturing the personality of each character quite well.

at least the movie gave me a good dose of cgi and explosions :)

Dont get me wrong i still recommend you watch the movie in theatres....theatres is meant for all those action packed scenes and explosions....just overall i wasnt impressed by the narraration and plot

There was totally an almost wardrobe malfunction in one of the scenes... too funny!!

And yes saw it last night and LOOOOOVED it. Optimus Prime is my hero. *sigh* So ya the "plot" is a little silly, but I wasn't going for the plot I was going to see ROBOTS kicking ass!!!!! And it definitely delivers.

It was an awesome movie, but I find they are trying to hard to please everyone and dragging it out. At one point I was just laughing too much that I got bored... dont get me wrong it was an awesome movie but I think they need to move past a lot of that humour.

You could sit there and go well... am I going to see Megan Fox running, some hilarious skit, or some kick ass action? It was just one after another...

Saw it in IMAX last night - full house.

I enjoyed it more than the first movie. The pacing and story was better.

Pros:
- lots of bots
- more action
- less human-focussed parts
- fight scene in the forest (IMAX)
- faster pacing
- Prime kicks ass
- Ravage's incarnation was well done
- Isabel Lucas, Megan Fox

Cons:
- too many unnamed/undeveloped bots (mostly Decepticons)
- too little screen time for most of the new "main" characters
- various plot holes (potential room for TF3)
- a few of the Decepticons were "recycled" from the first movie with no explanation if they were different bots or resurrected
- Devastator wasn't very devastating

Saw it in IMAX ($16.50) yesterday at Colossus and thought it was pretty good. Great action scenes, less humans (yay) and yes, Soundwave and Ravage.....sweet.

The other robots who crashed from decepticon planet was alien robot form...

Rebirth of Blackout and Barricade.

They were known as Grindor... Similar Alt mode to Blackout (if you remember, the first movie they destroyed Blackout in the warzone at the city. )
& Sideways. Barricade now an ALt mode of Audi R8


Volt, an autobot was one of the less developed characters... Noticed him when they returned to base with Optimus..

LOL that would give out some part of the story,... But... Remember.. Decepticons/ autobots cAn scan any vehicle they want, so in judging the way Sideswipe runs and transforms is very similar to Barricades robot mode...

In the movie Blackout was not even called his robot mode.. They were all classified as Decepticons... I think Michael Bay missed that...

You are correct he turned into a battle canon, who then later was attacked by Jetfire.

Jetfire later fought Scorponok from the first movie.

Mixmaster is the cement truck, visibly in the tanker scene, and at the landfill scene.

Love the G1 Transformers and still have the original Optimus and Jetfire in pristine condition. However, there is no way those would have translated into what the movies are today. Remember, the G1 series was always based on selling toys for Hasbro.

At least we can all agree that we're lucky that a Gobots movie was ever created! :chuckle

But yes, they didnt develop many charecters, and i can see they are majorly starting to stray from the cartoon..

but al in all it was good..

He kept the G1 likeness of our childhood, and some of their names. But he never expected to make it exact.

IMO Michael Bay did a great job with both of these movies.

He actually got the g1 flavor kicking in the second movie, but again it was a taste of it.

If I was Michael Bay, I would have done the same thing.... I would let another director continue it, becasue Fans dont like how he protrayed the Transformers.

Michael Bay may never win any awards but when it comes to summer blockbusters, explosions and great effects, he is one of the best out there.

There will always be fans of some thing that don't always agree with the direction of that the franchise may take. (ie Star Trek, Star Wars, etc). Oh well, you can't please everyone!

Speaking of collections, I have most of the Japanese Binaltech series, #1-16 plus three that came with mini anime figures. They are 1:24 scale partially die-cast model cars/bots.

The initial run of the series included a bunch of WRXs, two Mustangs, two Rx-8s, two Jeeps, three Corvettes, an S2000, two Scion xBs, two RSXs, two Vipers, etc.

IMO Binaltech is the most realistic series available. Too bad most of the line consisted of repaints. Even the three or four recent releases are repaints.

I also have Masterpiece Prime and Magnus, had Megatron and Starscream, and hope to get Grimlock at some point.

unfortunately i hated the twins.... they seem like a cheap replacement of the autobot that got ripped in half in the first movie (which i've already forgotten his name... was it jazz?) bad humour.... big ears... buck teeth and a gap??? we all know where bay was trying to lead that...

megan fox = hot = but had ZERO role in this go around.
at least in the first movie she played a role in the action helping bumble bee and seeming to actually "care" about survival and being more than just an errand girl with her pet chihuaha

sams' schoolmate = another useless character... too much comic relief... and useless.... as if shia himself wasn't enough.. we needed a Shia from tranformers 1 to replace the "now" matured shia...

sector 7 agent john turtoro = oh gawd what can i say about this IMMENSE overabuse of comic relief... good role.... but really does this movie need to be a comedy to this LEVEL

I've noticed that too. lol. We see the Decepticons crashing through the atmosphere a lot, maybe that's how they like to travel. But they do seem to lose pieces of metal when they re-enter the atmosphere. Only time we see something different is when Megatron flies to Cybertron.

Ravage is a CAT, unless I'm mistaken.

The final fight scene was alittle confusing to me, there were lots of robots in the fight but often it was hard to tell who was who. I had to download a copy to see the scene a couple of times over.
