I sent one of my good friends a cellphone pic of my car.. and he goes and starts calling it a ricer. cracking jokes left and right...

I'm sorry though i can't see the rice..

Rice to me is those damn civics with shit falling out of their asses

A lot of people would call lower end japanese cars that are modded rice. Your tail lights really give off the rice vibe. Thats probably why.

I'm totally happy with my car as it is right now. So i don;t really care what he or anyone else thinks.. It's just that he calls me rice i wonder what he thinks of all those civics and accords that are done up with body kits that are falling off, and those huge ass bazooka's as mufflers thats all.

I continually debate the tinted tails lol, some days i like it other days i dont..

I can see how interior lighting can be cheesy if it's overdone but look at higher end vehicles that have LED footwell lighting.
Visual modifications can be seen as "rice" because there's no performance value, but if you like how it looks then that's great.

you guys make this sound too complicated...rice is only a "JDM" thing cuz ppl who own imports are most prone to committing "rice" offences...let's take a step back and look at what rice is: it's a side dish...

when you have too much rice, you have too much of the things that draw attn away from the main dish: your car....

for example, when you order dinner, the last thing you want is "too much rice, and too little meat"...this is what I understand as "ricey": when your car has more ding-a-lings and doo-dads (read ornaments, kits/visual pieces) than is necessary to convey a sense of speed or TASTEFUL individuality...

I also stick with my own definition of "ricey" add-ons: if the accessory costs more than the item being accessories, that's rice...so it's OK to get $300 lug nuts...just make sure they go on deserving wheels, not a $500 set of 15"s, for example.
