I'm trying to search for certain tint percentages, every time I type in "35%" or "35% tint", I get results, but when I go to click on one I get this error message:

http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/8393/notacceptable.jpg

hahaha, not acceptable... how dare I.

Just me? Maybe it doesn't like the "%"? :whoa

Don't you dare blame the mac!!

Did you ever think it might be the operator? :chuckle

I'm on a mac and did the search in both Safari and Firefox without any issues. I am only running Tiger at work though. I'll test it again when I go home with Leopard.

I was wrong...there is a bug!!!!

After you get the results of the search, try opening one of the found threads. That's when you get the error. That is messed up!

:blush

I need to read the entire post before posting...lol

Well which mac do you have? If it's old I will agree with you so you CAN get a new one...:)

Don't try and change the subject now.

G5.... running Tiger.. and it's hella slow.

But actually, I'm glad this convo came up cuz I think I'm gonna go steal the Quad Core running Leopard off a co-worker who was recently let go hahahhaha :whoa

So..... has this glitch been resolved yet? LOL... I suppose I could just not be lazy and search manually through 500 pages of member rides... OR, I could post ANOTHER thread about tinting? Cuz I don't think 30 threads a month regarding where to get tints done is enough these days.

ya ya...lol

This shouldn't work for you either. Did you do the search for 35% and then click one of the links?

That's what I'm on now, just not running Leopard at the office. :)

BTW! THEY ALL LIE!!! Cardinal Fang included! :whoa

I tried it on a PC and it did the same thing. So it's not a "MAC" thing, which I knew it wasn't anyway.

It's definitely a search glitch.

For now, click the number under the "Replies" column (3rd from the right on the search results page) of the corresponding thread that you want to view. In the window that opens up, scroll to the bottom and click "Show Thread & Close Window". That should work.

Did the links from the "Tint Thread" not work for you?

It is indeed a minor bug. There is a board software update I need to complete. Hopefully will get that done early next week.

I have 35% tint all the way around, and have pics up on the first page of Members Rides.

I found this thread by searching on a PC..... Just Kidding :)

Sorry to rain on the anti-mac parade...however I just tried using windows. The search results show up fine, however when you click on a link, it doesn't work.

Though this makes sense since browsers sometimes look at the % to find out what character it is trying to use. IE %20 is a space. So if there's a % and nothing following or it doen't know what to do with the space, you are likely to get a crash.

It's due to the highlight part of the link. It's trying to do "highlight=35%25+tint" whereas without the % sign it's just "highlight=35+tint".

Is there a work around, not sure. However I'm willing to bet that there might be other characters that will also show an error. Who knows though.

The URL is formatted fine. The '%25' is the code for a percent sign in an URL. The error we are getting (a 406 error) means the server is attempting to return data that it doesn't deem acceptable to the client (based on server settings).

ElegantGremlin

It will happen across all OS/Browsers. It's a server issue.
