click sound when moving the gear shift from P position

I heard a click noise when I moved the stick from the P position to the right before moving it down to the R position, is this normal? The ignition is on at the time. There is no click when I move it the same way when the ignition was off. It is the 2010 Mazda Sport. The click comes from the steering colume
