Okay, so our daughter is growing too quickly:

and it has come time to invest in a camcorder to capture all those memories.
I don't really have a set budget, I don't want something that will be obsolete in 2 months, nor do I want to spend over $1500.
I am leaning towards the Sony HDRXR520V
Any opinions would be helpful.

sorry, no opinions on camcorders except that personally I never really liked paying the big bucks for the sony name. I like Canon more but that's just a personal taste.
also, I just had to say that she looks SOOOO much like you!!! the resemblance is uncanny.. if she looks like you what did she get from your wife??
oh, and you can get hdmi cables cheap from http://www.monoprice.com

Try cnet reviews, they seems to know what they're talking about.
