You guys must not play nearly as much as I do hehehe, its so sick how Poker is sometimes. I've seen so much and have cried after losing so much to "set up" hands like these...ah good times. If you have not heard the term "Perfect Perfect" you have not felt the wrath of the Poker Gods.

That's awesome, hahaha! The best I've seen is 2 people having pocket aces, all-in and the one guy wins with a flush.

I just built a nice poker table with a padded vinyl rail, maple track, stainless steel cupholders, speedcloth, the works....that seats 8 people... but I'm in st.catharines so it would be a trek for everyone. It also just barely doesn't fit into my 3 so I can't transport it. If anyone wanted to come I'd hold a poker night or if someone wanted to help transport it somewhere else that's more accessible to people... lemme know haha

I mostly play on full tilt poker and cake poker.
I actually run a poker rakeback site, its got tips, some videos (trying to make more) articles on poker as well.
www.gamingedge.net (http://www.gamingedge.net)
(admins, let me know if this isn't ok)
PM me if you want, I'll point you in the right direction.
Anyway, back on topic, the poker game. Nah we don't need like a real poker table with felt. I have a feeling its going to be a lot more than just 8 people.
Just come down and enjoy some poker with the rest of us.
We'll find a place with some tables and chairs and we should be good.

I'm actually surprised that the hand went to the river without someone jamming. With three sets, there should have been major action on the flop.
There's nothing magic about pocket pairs, even rockets. In a low limit table, with many players involved, I wouldn't expect to win with pocket rockets more than 25-33% of the time.
I went to Vegas recently and had a lot of fun with this hand:
I'm the big blind and look down to see 7-2H. Ugh. But it goes around without a raise. About 5 people see the flop. Flop is A-J-x, all hearts. Kaching! Early player bets out, is raised, and raised again before it gets to me. I briefly consider someone else flopped a flush, but discard that with this table. I put one on a pair of aces and the other on jacks. Maybe a set. Hope the board doesn't pair. I just call. 3 people, including me, see the turn, which is some low rag. Good stuff. The other two guys raise and re-raise until it's capped. The river is another rag and again it's capped. Lets see if I'm right about the flush. First player turns over the pocket jacks. The second turns over the rockets. I show my flush. Looks of disgust all around. "How can you play 7-2???". It was the perfect hand. Almost max value extracted and I never had to put in a raise.
I was expecting a more educated poker crowd in Vegas but the low limit games are still pretty predictable. Very passive, pre-flop (I was pretty much the only one raising pre-flop). Some action on post-flop, but raises were still rare (this hand was a rare exception). In one hand, I had a guy call one of my raises on the river when he had the stone cold nuts! Hey, thanks...
Also came in second in my first tournament, which was kind of cool.

You don't know whether or not people jammed or not, we don't have the full hand history.
At any rate, there shouldn't be a lot of action on the flop.
if you look at the hands. I can maybe see the UTG player raising. I don't think so though because UTG+1 stayed in the hand.
Its totally stupid to called a raise hoping to set mine in early position with 5/5.
Peter in the BB should have either raised or reraised. I suppose he didn't cause if he did a proper raise, one should go away pre-flop.
So basically we're left with maybe a 50 dollar pot max on the flop. Looks like these guys all still had about $180 behind since the total pot was $669.
If you hit your set on that board, you are very likely to be good. You want to extract the most value by value betting. 3/4 pot or pot or something.
Noone is going to be shoving on the flop or raising all in. The likelihood your opponent has a callable hand that you can beat is SUPER SLIM. If they do call the shove, it means you might be crushed (obviously doesn't apply to petter but I am saying the guys with the 99 or the 55). You are better off trying to extract value, pulling along hands like KJ, AJ, straight draws... etc...
Looks like the pot eventually got really big and either the all-in's came on the turn or river. I don't think it was on the flop.
Anyway, just a little analysis.
EDIT: So this is where all our parts money is going, 200NL poker haha. BALLER

So wait, people are surprised that you got a free flop on the BB and flopped the flush that you played 7-2. That makes no sense at all.
I see a problem with this that you didn't shove on the flop of this board. With all that action infront, the pot would have been getting a bit juicy. If you don't think anyone else has a flush yet, you need to shove or raise really really big to defend your 7 high flush.
What if another heart falls on the board? Someone might have a bigger once card flush than you and you will ultimately lose the hand.
It was a perfect hand that you didn't get screwed over not in the sense that you extracted the most value.
Unless this is limit but I don't think they play limit in vegas too much.

That is the huge missconception, the play in Vegas is HORRIBLE, just the same fish playing at your local casinos except they have a bigger bankroll, or tourists that count losing $500 as a "Vegas Experience".
The caliber is MUCH stronger in underground games......

Actually, it was limit. My bankrolls non-existent, so I was playing some low limit. The other players were raising like crazy. I was just along for the ride. It was just fun to win a large pot without having to put in a single raise.
You're dead right on the play in a sane game. I would've wanted to end the hand on the flop with that board. I was lucky no one sucked out on me, but that's pretty much the name of the game in low limit hold'em anyway. :)
