resurrecting this thread as I've been going back and forth from OS5 to OS6 then back to OS5 because of my phone freezing up for no apparent reason. OS6 is very unstable on my phone so i don't think i can install it again. Can anyone think of reasons why this is happening?

couple of questions - 1) are you downloading the upgrade directly from RIM, or from Telus ? 2)The tour may not have enough memory/cpu for OS6.

My work 9700 has trouble with the browser on os6, that's about it though. Try latest version?

hmm, my 9700 runs OS6 fine, but I did a full upgrade. I downloaded the latest BB desktop software from Rogers, then did the OS upgrade from BB desktop.

I shrank the nonsense out of OS6 before I installed it on my work 9700, works fine

9700 has less memory than OS 6.0 was designed for (hence the need for the 9780). It can run, but the more apps you have installed and the more you try to multitask, the more lag you'll see.

got a 9900 last week...loving it so far! Missing some settings and what not, but overall a great addition to the lineup. The touch/trackpad combination really works well, and I love the fact that it is the same form factor as my old 9000.

As for the issues with 9700's with OS6, I have a bunch of 9700's here at work running the Latest OS: 9700 6.0.0.2718/6.0.0.615 and they seem to run great.
May want to check out www.blackberryforums.com and go to the device specific subforums...the newest O/S from RIM are posted there (not just what Rogers/Telus/Bell are pushing)
