T&T already charges Loblaws prices vs. the No Frills prices of shopping at say, Old Chinatown. So it's not like Loblaw can really jack up T&T's prices. What they can't understand is why Asian ppl would shop at T&T even tho T&T's prices are inline with Loblaw's. So instead of competing, they just flat out bought them...
If I recall correctly, T&T was valued at over $350 million CDN a little over a year ago. How far have we come since the days of Dragon City...

If EVERY T&T Across Canada is going to be carrying Authentic asian Brands instead of the crappy PC stuff after Loblaws buys them, I'll be fine with it. If they're sticking PC on T&T shelves... hell no!

Dame it , does this means no more JDM drinks, Very few stores carry the variety that T&T carries. Old chinatown all carry the made in china knock offs. LOL I guess we're gonna see the PC knock offs.

Im sure they will keep it as two seperate companies. Nothing will change. It doesn't make sense to make changes to something thats working quite well.
Loblaws just wants to tap into the profits that can be had in the asian market.

since lately most major Loblaws/Superstores have expanded their 'asian product' sections while charging nearly double for the same products that T&T usually sells, i sincerely hope that it doesn't mean that after the acquisition the T&T prices will go up to the same level. Hopefully they realize that the only way to maintain those sales levels of $514 mil is not to mess with the structure currently implemented at those stores.
Otherwise, as long as they keep having specials on lemon tea, i don't really care.

You work for T&T Phil? That's quite unusual...
If I'm ever in Toronto, I go to oriental quite a bit... instead of T&T

Apparently, they're saying that they're not putting the PC brands on T&T shelves... YAY!!!
But you might see more brands that T&T carries on Superstore shelves.

A lot of their dim sum is premade and shipped over from China - I find it really shows in the taste... Really floury tasting ha-gow, and almost mushy shrimp in sieu mai. The only thing that I really like from T&T dim sum , as a dirty sinful food, is their chalot pancakes.
Admitedly, the concept of the store is pretty good at what it does - a massive supermarket that carries a few of everything while staying pretty clean for an asian market (vs. chinatown).
