Where is the Mazda 3 04 ERG Valve? I want to clean it out. I'm having the same problem as Adnan said in this forum http://www.torontomazda3.com/forum/showthread.php?p=390500 . Stalling while at the stop light. System too lean CEL. Changed the filter and Spark plug. For sure I know it's the ERG Valve issue known problem on this model. Any reply will be greatly appreciated.

It's located on the left side of the motor beside the throttle body. Left side being when you're sitting in the car not standing in front looking down at the motor.

Thanks so much I will take a look at it after I get home. Wanna try cleaning it out first before buying it.

The TM3 price is $214.44 plus tax. Did you get a code for the EGR?

It was P2187 SYSTEM TOO LEAN AT IDLE SPEED (BANK 1)

I don't think that has anything to do with the EGR valve
have you checked the MAF, vacuum leaks and air filter? are you still running the stock intake?

I checked the MAF Sensor made sure it's clean twice. Air filter is brand new. I even took out the entire intake out OEM STOCK and put everything back together to make sure it's tight. Regarding the Vacuum leak I'm clueless on how to test this out on a Mazda 3 2L.

Going to purchase the Purge Soleniod today from Joe well let you guys know how it goes. Car intermittenly shut off while idle, sometimes CEl goes away and come back again with same code 2187. Problem after filling up the full tank, won't start up the first try, usually the 2nd will.

Yup, i even cleaned the MAF. I got the Purge Soleniod from Joe yesterday, he was very helpful and showed me the ERA Valve how it looks like. He called me by my first name really professional, it shows he's not just interest to sell yme the part but at least know his customer. Well I will install it this weekend and tell you guys if the problem still occur.

I just installed it. The RPM stay slighty between 1000- 800 RPM, before it was like at 500RPM. I will be driving it to King City from Brampton and report my find tomorrow peace out guys and have a great long weekend!

I think I might need a purge valve too (I have been having the 500rpm rough idle for a little while). How much did it cost and how easy was it to install ?

it was something like 96 plus tax from MOT talk to flipdaddy. Don't go to the regular Mazda 3 they won't give you the discount as what Joe gave me. It takes 10mins to do it. Once you get the Purge Valve you will see how easy it is to install . Everything is mostly a snap on clip and you need a screwdriver that all.

Does your car Stall though Artic or gave any CEL Code?

No actual CEL or stalling right now. Just the low idle and associated vibrations.

Hmm, maybe a "how-to remove/install purge valve" topic would be great!
